Job Description
We are a private household seeking a highly reliable and detail-oriented House Manager/Housekeeper to oversee the daily operations and upkeep of our residence. Our household is committed to maintaining a pristine, organized, and well-functioning home environment that supports the daily routines, hosting needs, and special projects typical of a high-end private household. Our establishment values discretion, professionalism, and efficiency, and we are looking for a candidate who embodies these principles in their work.
This role is a unique blend of hands-on housekeeping and proactive household management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining exceptional cleanliness and organization throughout the home. This includes daily housekeeping duties, managing laundry with great care for delicates and dry cleaning, and ensuring all storage areas such as closets and drawers are neat and well-maintained. Additionally, the candidate will oversee household supplies and shopping, proactively replenishing and organizing items to ensure the home runs smoothly. The position requires assisting the Chief of Staff with maintenance schedules and coordinating with service providers such as landscapers, handymen, cleaners, and repair technicians to maintain the property in peak condition.
Beyond housekeeping, the House Manager will coordinate vendor access to the home, supervise work when necessary, lead organization projects including seasonal transitions of wardrobes, linens, and decor, and ensure the home is guest-ready at all times. Running household errands — including grocery shopping, managing dry cleaning, returns, shipments, and package handling — is also a core responsibility.
This role goes beyond the household chores and requires support for events and hosting. The House Manager will assist with the preparation, execution, and cleanup of dinner parties and gatherings, including setting up tables, decor preparation, staging, and coordination with external vendors such as chefs, caterers, florists, and rental companies. During events, the candidate will help with serving, replenishing items, and maintaining cleanliness, as well as post-event breakdown and home restoration.
Personal assistant and lifestyle support are also integral components of this position. The House Manager will run personal errands, assist with travel preparation including packing and unpacking, laundering, and organizing clothing and personal items. Supporting the Chief of Staff with special projects and household-related initiatives will be expected, along with providing flexible support as household needs evolve.
The schedule for this full-time position is Monday through Friday, generally 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM onsite, with occasional flexibility required for evenings and weekends to support events or hosting duties. This position offers several benefits including healthcare, competitive paid time off, daily meals, and parking. The ideal candidate will have a calm, professional demeanor with a naturally discreet and unobtrusive presence in the home, strong English fluency, excellent communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, discretion, flexibility, and a service-oriented mindset.
