TerraBella Senior Living is currently seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to join their vibrant community at Signal Mountain Senior Living. This role is pivotal in maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of the community, ensuring that residents enjoy a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. The Housekeeper will be responsible for the daily upkeep of apartment homes, common areas, lounges, and offices, demonstrating attention to detail and a strong commitment to sanitation standards. This role requires a hands-on approach to cleaning, including sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and the effective management of commercial laundry services. Additionally, the Housekeeper takes a proactive role in maintaining cleaning supplies and equipment, adhering to safety protocols such as proper storage of cleaning chemicals and compliance with fire codes.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous housekeeping experience preferred
Effective communication skills
Ability to read and understand safety rules and procedure manuals
Physical ability to perform cleaning duties including lifting up to 50 pounds
Interest in working with seniors
Ability to interact courteously with residents and staff
Compliance with safety and fire codes
Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous housekeeping experience preferred
Ability to communicate effectively speaking the primary language of the residents
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Demonstrated interest in working with a senior population
Courteous and friendly interaction with guests, residents, and staff
Physical ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally
Specific vision abilities including close vision and color vision required

Job Duties

Performs cleaning duties according to schedule (daily, weekly, monthly) in assigned areas such as apartment homes, common areas, lounges and offices
Sweeps, dusts, dust mops, and wet mops all floors and stairways
Spot cleans and vacuums floors, rugs, carpets and runners
Rotates runners in hallways and entryways
Cleans, sanitizes, and polishes lavatory, shower and sink fixtures and facilities
Stocks dispensers as necessary
Scrubs bath and shower room tiles, woodwork, window frames, and sills
Maintains equipment and materials in a clean and orderly condition
Collects trash and refuse from work areas and places in designated pick-up areas
Collects, cleans, and redistributes community laundry
Maintains the commercial laundry in a clean, orderly and sanitary condition
Ensures cleaning chemicals are stored and locked when not in use
Keeps cords, carts, equipment, and hazards out of the way to comply with fire codes
Reports needed repairs and supply and equipment needs to the Lead Housekeeper
Performs other duties as assigned
