At Rosewood Washington, D.C., we are seeking a dedicated and highly detail-oriented House Attendant to join our Rooms - Heart of House department. This full-time, permanent position requires a candidate who is committed to upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and service excellence that define the Rosewood brand. The House Attendant plays a critical role in maintaining the pristine condition of guest-facing public areas including restrooms, hallways, service elevators, the front desk, pool, rooftop, and gym. This individual ensures that all spaces meet our superior cleanliness standards, enhancing the overall guest experience and reflecting the spirit of Relationship Hospitality that is central to Rosewood’s ethos.
The role involves a variety of tasks such as laundry pressing, shoe cleaning, delivery services, and assisting room attendants with deep cleaning and furniture movement. The House Attendant is also responsible for stocking guest supplies and clean linens on the floor landings, removing dirty linens and trash, and managing cleanliness of employee restrooms. Furthermore, this position includes responsibilities like cleaning and disinfecting high-touch points in public areas, maintaining the fitness center, pool, sundeck, administrative office spaces, and the hotel’s townhouses, including interior and exterior window cleaning.
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform physical tasks involving lifting, pushing, and pulling objects up to 35 pounds, and working efficiently both indoors and outdoors. The ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays, maintaining a friendly and courteous demeanor with guests and coworkers, and following detailed instructions to complete assigned projects is essential. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Minimum one year's experience as a cleaner/house attendant for a luxury or ultra-luxury hotel or resort
- Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
- Prioritize, organize and follow-up
- Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment
- Follow directions thoroughly
- Understand a guest’s service needs
- Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
- Work with minimal supervision
- Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and equipment usage
- Knowledge of proper chemical handling
- Required to speak, read and write in English
- Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting supplies, cleaning cart, and cleaning equipment
- Endure various physical movements
- Ability to reach up and down
- Ability to lift, pull, push a minimum of 35 pounds
- Primarily work indoors and be able to move outdoors between hotel and townhouses
- Ability to stand stationary for long periods
- Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers
Job Qualifications
- Minimum one year's experience as a cleaner/house attendant for a luxury or ultra-luxury hotel or resort
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy

Job Duties
- Maintain guest public areas including restrooms, hallways, service elevators, front desk, pool, rooftop, gym and ensure the hotel standards of cleanliness are being met
- Conduct laundry pressing, shoe cleaning and laundry delivery services
- Thoroughly clean, disinfect and restock employee restrooms
- Responsible for the stocking of guest supplies and linens on the floor landings
- Assisting the room attendants with any deep cleaning needs and movement of furniture
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and cleaning standards
- Ensure that standards are maintained at a superior level
