The House Attendant position at Highgate Hotels’ Homewood Suites Rochester location offers a vital role in ensuring the impeccable maintenance and cleanliness of guest and public areas to meet the company’s high standards. The House Attendant is entrusted with a variety of responsibilities that contribute directly to guest satisfaction and operational excellence. This role includes daily buffing of marble floors, shampooing carpets and furniture in public areas as needed, and maintaining all hotel equipment. Additionally, this role involves managing luggage assistance with a friendly and courteous approach, handling lost and found items according to established procedures, and cleaning guestrooms when necessary. The House Attendant must also be proactive in assisting with emergency procedures and completing special projects assigned by the Housekeeping Manager.

This hourly position requires physical stamina and the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects of varying weights. Effective communication skills are essential to interact attentively and courteously with guests and team members. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in hotel or related field preferred
  • Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly
  • Ability to stand during entire shift
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Friendly, courteous, and service oriented manner

Job Duties

  • Buff marble floors daily according to hotel standards
  • Shampoo carpets in the public areas according to hotel standards
  • Shampoo furniture as needed
  • Handle all requests for luggage assistance in a friendly, efficient and courteous manner
  • Handle items for lost and found according to hotel standards
  • Clean guestrooms as needed
  • Have knowledge of and assist in all emergency procedures
  • Maintain hotel equipment in proper working order
  • Maintain storage of hotel equipment in proper area
  • Complete special projects as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction
