Job Description
Ascent Hospitality is a dynamic hospitality company known for its extensive portfolio of hotels and a robust pipeline of new properties and acquisitions. However, what truly sets Ascent Hospitality apart is its commitment to people rather than numbers. They prioritize creating a memorable experience not only for their guests but also for their team members. The company culture is centered around teamwork, collaboration, and a shared purpose, fostering an environment where individuals thrive by working well together. Ascent Hospitality seeks professionals who are passionate about serving others, demonstrating strong communication skills, and excelling in challenging and evolving environments. This company is currently looking to expand its team with the addition of a House Attendant, a pivotal role within the housekeeping and facility maintenance teams.
The House Attendant position at Ascent Hospitality plays an essential role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of guest floors and public spaces within the hotel. Responsibilities extend beyond just clean floors and corridors; they include overseeing the cleanliness of areas such as the Fitness Center, Meeting Rooms, and sometimes providing support to the Laundry Department. The House Attendant works closely under the supervision of the Director/Manager of Housekeeping, alongside Operations Managers or the General Manager, ensuring each guest area is presented at its best to uphold the company’s high standards.
This role involves a variety of tasks including cleaning hallways, lobbies, corridors, elevators, and stairways, as well as sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors with specialized equipment. The House Attendant is also tasked with maintaining the upkeep of rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies. Attention to detail is crucial as duties include dusting furniture and equipment, polishing metal fixtures, washing walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, sills, and ensuring public restrooms are spotless. Waste management is a critical part of the job, requiring the collection and disposal of trash, emptying wastebaskets, and cleaning ashtrays.
Additionally, the House Attendant supports the Room Attendants by stocking carts with linens and room supplies, handling the transportation of dirty linens to the laundry, retrieving clean linens, folding towels and sheets, and organizing storage areas. This role may occasionally involve heavy lifting and moving furniture or equipment, assistance with pool maintenance, and other duties as assigned. The position requires the House Attendant to maintain professional and courteous interactions with guests, using guest names and providing local area information when needed, contributing to an exceptional guest experience.
The role demands physical stamina, including frequent standing, walking, climbing, and the ability to lift weights ranging from ten to fifty pounds, along with pushing carts weighing up to two hundred pounds. Candidates must be capable of handling cleaning chemicals safely and effectively operating under physically and mentally stressful conditions.
Ascent Hospitality offers a competitive salary with a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, along with 401k with employer match, paid time off, uniforms, and a team member hotel discount program. This position is ideal for energetic individuals with basic English communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork and customer service, even those with limited prior housekeeping experience are encouraged to apply, as training is provided.
Joining Ascent Hospitality means becoming part of a company that values every Team Member and is committed to their development and well-being, offering a supportive and engaging work environment with opportunities for growth in the hospitality industry.
