Job Description

The hiring establishment is a hotel recognized for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. The role available is that of a Housekeeping House Attendant, an essential position within the hotel’s housekeeping team. This role involves a combination of tasks aimed at keeping the hotel environment spotless, orderly, and welcoming to guests.

The Housekeeping House Attendant is responsible for cleaning various guest and public areas throughout the hotel, including rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, lounges, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms. The attendant follows established safety protocols, especially when using cleaning chemicals, to ensure a safe working environment as well as a clean one. They manage furniture arrangement, dusting and polishing surfaces such as furniture, metalwork, and equipment, and conduct floor maintenance that includes sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing. Some of the equipment used can include brooms, mops, vacuum cleaners, and powered scrubbing machines.

Part of the role also involves laundering tasks, such as collecting soiled linens for washing and replenishing linen supplies efficiently. Bathrooms and rooms are cleaned and restocked with necessary items like towels and supplies to meet guest expectations. The attendant also performs routine cleaning of walls, ceilings, windows, door panels, and other woodwork.

In addition to cleaning duties, the Housekeeping House Attendant empties wastebaskets and ashtrays, handles trash and waste disposal, and reports any maintenance or repair needs to the maintenance team promptly. The role requires occasional assistance to Room Attendants and includes the responsibility to greet guests warmly, enhancing their overall experience. The position demands physical stamina, reliability, and a commitment to detail, providing an indispensable service that contributes directly to guest comfort and hotel reputation.

The employment type is hourly wage-based, offering a competitive pay rate of $16.90 per hour. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas
  • Abides by the regulations set forth by the material safety data sheets when using chemicals
  • Moves/arranges furniture and dusts/polishes furniture, metalwork and equipment
  • Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors, using brooms and mops and powered scrubbing and waxing machines
  • Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaner
  • Collects soiled linens for laundering and receives and stores linen supplies in linen closet
  • Cleans bathrooms and replenishes with supplies
  • Refurnishes room with supplies, towels etc. as required
  • Supplies cleaning cart with appropriate supplies for shift
  • Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork
  • washes windows, door panels, and sills
  • Empties wastebaskets and empties and cleans ashtrays
  • Transports trash and waste to disposal area
  • Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel
  • Assist Room Attendant with task as needed
  • Takes the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner
  • Other duties as assigned
