With a diverse portfolio that includes both full-service and focused hotels located in major cities, Sonesta offers a unique blend of owned, managed, and franchised properties. The company operates more than 1000 properties across eight countries, delivering exceptional service and memorable guest experiences. Sonesta's success is driven by its commitment to the human side of hospitality, emphasizing passion, loyalty, and genuine connections with guests. The organization's philosophy, encapsulated in the phrase 'Together We Thrive', highlights their dedication to providing quality, value, and amazing hospitality to every guest, in every stay.
The House Attendant role at Sonesta International Hotels is an essential part of maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction that the company prides itself on. This position works closely with the Housekeeping Management Team and Room Attendants to ensure that linen and trash are properly managed and that guest areas are kept in an immaculate condition. The House Attendant assists in collecting dirty linens, transporting them to the laundry area, and delivering fresh linens to the Room Attendants. Alongside these core responsibilities, the House Attendant also helps in cleaning public spaces such as restrooms, storage rooms, exterior entrances, and parking lots. The role requires active participation in special projects as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager, often including deep cleaning efforts and attention to detail.
Key duties include supporting Room Attendants with heavy items like mattresses and linens, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of floor closets and corridors, responding promptly to guest requests, and ensuring all housekeeping supplies and amenities are used efficiently to minimize waste. When assigned to laundry duties, the House Attendant is responsible for monitoring supplies and equipment, operating washers and dryers according to established guidelines, inspecting linens for damage, and properly folding and storing clean linens.
This role demands a high level of physical activity, including standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, and lifting items up to 75 pounds. The ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is necessary. Candidates with previous housekeeping experience, especially in the extended stay industry, are preferred. Additionally, proficiency in English and basic reading, writing, and math skills is advantageous. Sonesta values teamwork, and the House Attendant is expected to foster strong communication and coordination with colleagues and supervisors to ensure consistent quality and guest satisfaction.
Sonesta International Hotels offers a competitive pay range and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the health, financial security, and overall well-being of its employees and their families. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, a health savings account with company match, a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, paid vacation and sick days, employee discounts on hotel stays, educational assistance, paid parental leave, company-paid life insurance, and disability coverage among others. Sonesta is committed to equal employment opportunities, encouraging qualified candidates from all backgrounds to apply and emphasizing a thorough application process to ensure complete and fair consideration.
