The Culinary Supervisor position at LifeWorks Restaurant Group is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the production, preparation, and presentation of food within assigned units. This role demands hands-on participation alongside supervising a team to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality culinary products. The Culinary Supervisor will maintain inventory levels, uphold food safety standards, and ensure cleanliness and sanitation according to stringent company policies. A significant portion of the role involves team management functions, including interviewing, scheduling, training, coaching, and mentoring staff to optimize performance and resolve workplace issues. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two to three years experience in a culinary role
  • Formal culinary education preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen operations
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Physical ability to perform kitchen duties and supervise staff

Job Qualifications

  • Two to three years experience in a related culinary position
  • Two to three years of post-high school education, preferably a culinary degree
  • Advanced knowledge of food profession principles and practices
  • Experience in management of people and/or problem-solving
  • Excellent oral, reading, and written communication skills
  • Willingness to work hands-on with staff and operations and work flexible event-based hours including evenings and weekends

Job Duties

  • Supervise and participate in the production, preparation, and presentation of all foods for assigned units
  • Ensure sufficient inventory is maintained, record deliveries, handle discrepancies, and assist with storage
  • Maintain proper handling of all food products and equipment to ensure food safety and kitchen standards
  • Ensure cleanliness and high sanitation standards are upheld at all times
  • Interview, schedule, train, develop, empower, coach, and counsel staff
  • Resolve problems, provide open communication, recommend discipline as appropriate
  • Adapt to changing job duties and work event-based hours including evenings and weekends
