The Hourly Manager role at Burger King plays a critical part in ensuring smooth restaurant operations during assigned shifts. This position oversees team direction, customer service, and operational execution when higher management is not present. The Hourly Manager leads shift operations by ensuring efficient food preparation and timely order delivery consistent with Burger King's established speed of service standards. This role sets a performance example and helps identify and resolve any operational bottlenecks that may impact customer satisfaction. In addition to managing the team’s output, the Hourly Manager fosters a positive work atmosphere, motivating team members to deliver friendly and exceptional service while maintaining a clean and safe environment.
This position also carries significant responsibility in training and developing team members, delegating tasks effectively, and ensuring accountability during the shift. The Hourly Manager addresses compliance with food safety, sanitation, security policies, and operational guidelines to uphold Burger King's quality standards. Furthermore, the role assists with cash management, inventory controls, and financial procedures relevant to the shift. While the Hourly Manager supports many management functions, certain administrative duties, such as formal counseling, hiring, and payroll input, remain within the scope of salaried management personnel.

Job Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Basic math skills
- Willing to complete all required training including Foundations and Serve Safe Essentials
- Ability to communicate effectively with team and customers
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Must be reliable and dependable

Job Duties
- Directs efficient and accurate preparation and sale of products for prompt customer delivery within the established speed of service guidelines
- Provides production direction to team in a clear and concise way
- Sets an example for team by working hard to implement shift plan and ensure swift and smooth production
- Identifies and resolves bottlenecks in food preparation and order delivery to increase speed of service
- Demonstrates patience and a positive attitude with team while delegating tasks and giving instructions
- Motivates team members to exceed customer expectations with food and friendly service in clean surroundings
- Resolves customer feedback and customer complaints in a timely, friendly and professional manner
- Directs, trains and motivates team members during shift on each of the workstations as needed to enhance restaurant results
- Delegates work to team members in a way that encourages them to work together during shift to ensure the restaurant operates efficiently
- Assists in training team members on workstations and making them feel their contributions are valuable
- Maintains order and discipline among employees supervised
- Adheres to compliance of government regulations, food safety, security policy, cash policies, operations and policies and procedures relating to all activities in the restaurant during the shift
- Directs team members to maintain restaurant and equipment cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Reports violations of safety, sanitation or security policies to restaurant management and performs short-term solutions
- Follows cash control and inventory procedures
- Reconciles deposits and executes cash management
- Executes inventory management for assigned shift
- Seeks knowledge and coaching to increase understanding of restaurant financial controls
- Sends employees home until formal counseling can be conducted by the General Manager
- Assists salaried management in hiring practices but does not conduct formal counseling or disciplinary procedures
