Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of cooking experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50lb
  • Effective communication skills
  • Flexibility to work extended hours
  • Ability to stand 100% of the time
  • Manual dexterity for using knives and kitchen appliances
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation principles

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Professional diploma or food services management preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of cooking experience required
  • Knowledge of food and catering trends, quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Knowledge of serving methods, sanitation, and safe food handling principles
  • Ability to lift up to 50lb
  • Effective communication skills
  • Highly flexible with solid interpersonal skills
  • Highly effective teamwork skills
  • Computer literacy including MS Word, Excel, and email
  • Attention to detail

Job Duties

  • Prepare food items in pantry, fry stations, or other kitchen areas
  • Set up station according to restaurant guidelines
  • Follow clean as you go requirements
  • Possess good knife skills
  • Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
  • Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications
  • Restock items as needed throughout shift
  • Clean and maintain station practicing safety, sanitation, and organizational skills
  • Properly use and maintain all station equipment
  • Assist with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and storage areas
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested by Chef or Sous Chef
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
  • Perform standard and additional sanitary measures including sweeping floors, cleaning surfaces, and proper food storage
  • Work at efficient and consistent pace
  • Ensure timely preparation of all meals
  • Prepare correct quantities to meet daily needs
  • Utilize kitchen equipment during food preparation
  • Remain productive and prepare for future needs
  • Demonstrate flexibility and volunteer to fill open shifts
  • Follow proper reporting procedures for accidents and incidents
  • Adhere to all safety regulations including blood borne pathogens, infection control, hazardous materials, and fire safety
  • Serve food in proper portion size and temperature
  • Report any infractions of food services policies
  • Arrive to work at scheduled time
  • Perform other related duties as required
  • Open and close station as required
  • Lead by example with eagerness to learn
  • Execute daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedule
