Job Description

BJ's Wholesale Club is a leading membership-only warehouse club with a strong nationwide presence, serving more than 30,000 team members who drive everyday business success. Focused on helping families save on essential goods while offering quality and value, BJ's Wholesale Club is recognized for its commitment to a purpose-driven workplace culture and opportunities for career growth. The company values its employees as the foundation of its achievements, fostering an environment of support, collaboration, and respect.

This role, the Assistant Night Manager, is vital in maintaining the high operational standards that BJ's Wholesale Club is known for. Reporting closely to the Assistant Club Manager of Merchandise, the Assistant Night Manager leads overnight merchandising efforts to ensure products are fully stocked, properly displayed, and readily available for members at the start of the business day. Although this position does not hold direct supervisory responsibilities, the Assistant Night Manager guides the overnight team, offering coaching and motivation to maintain the Grand Opening Look Daily (GOLD) merchandise presentation standards.

The Assistant Night Manager is also entrusted to serve as the Manager on Duty during selected shifts, managing overall club operations, team leadership, and member engagement, ensuring the club meets business goals and delivers exceptional customer service. This role involves hands-on leadership and active participation in overnight tasks such as display setup, pallet movement, floor resets, inventory controls, and safety compliance. Key performance areas include maintaining club standards, driving financial performance by adhering to cost and labor goals, and supporting merchandising initiatives.

Team member engagement is a significant aspect of this position. The Assistant Night Manager cultivates a safe, inclusive, and positive workplace that encourages open communication and celebrates team contributions. By embodying the company's values and ethical standards, the individual facilitates collaboration and ensures a productive work environment for the overnight team.

Member experience is paramount at BJ's Wholesale Club. The Assistant Night Manager upholds the GOLD Member Standards by guaranteeing service excellence, engaging members with friendly and helpful interactions, and addressing member needs promptly. This role requires responsiveness to customer concerns and escalation of issues when necessary to maintain high satisfaction levels.

The role demands physical activity, including frequent movement on hard surfaces, occasional bending, lifting up to 30 pounds, and the use of pallet jacks and forklifts. Training and certification for forklift operation are mandatory and provided by the company. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and demonstrate flexibility with open shift availability for overnight work.

Compensation for this position starts at $20.00 per hour, reflecting BJ's Wholesale Club's commitment to fair and transparent pay practices. Employees also gain access to a comprehensive benefits package, including weekly pay, free membership benefits, generous paid time off, flexible health plans, 401(k) retirement savings with company match, and an employee stock purchase plan, highlighting the company's dedication to its employees' health, well-being, and financial future.

By joining BJ's Wholesale Club as an Assistant Night Manager, individuals become part of a world-class team dedicated to delivering value and a premium shopping experience to members, while enjoying meaningful work and career development opportunities within a supportive community.
