Job Duties

  • Customer service
  • Train at least one shift, cross-train and retrain all front office personnel
  • Evaluate the job performance of each front-office employee
  • Participate in the selection of front office personnel
  • Ensure that employees are attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and other employees
  • Resolve guest problems quickly, efficiently, and courteously
  • Help hotel manager in front desk scheduling
  • Monitor that front desk staff take breaks and give breaks appropriately
  • Cover front desk shifts when necessary to reduce payroll and overtime costs
  • Enforce proper uniform standards
  • Maintain communication with hotel management, housekeeping, and maintenance
  • Maintain master key control
  • Verify accurate room status information maintenance and communication
  • Review and complete credit limit reports
  • Check cashiers in and out and verify banks and deposits daily
  • Enforce cash handling, check-cashing, and credit policies
  • Conduct scheduled meetings of front office personnel
  • Maximize room revenue and occupancy through daily status review and local events calendar monitoring
  • Monitor high-balance guests and take appropriate action
  • Manage VIP guests’ special requests
  • Maintain pars of front office and stationery supplies
  • Review daily front office work and activity reports
  • Review front office log book and guest feedback forms
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
