The Maintenance Engineer position is an essential role within Schulte Hospitality Group, requiring an energetic and experienced professional with a hands-on approach to maintaining hotel properties. This role focuses on overseeing the upkeep and repair of hotel premises, including public areas, guest rooms, and grounds. The Maintenance Engineer conducts regular preventative maintenance to avoid operational breakdowns and ensures that all electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry systems are functioning optimally. This individual is responsible for responding promptly to maintenance requests, performing daily inspections, identifying issues, and executing repairs efficiently to maintain high standards of hotel quality and guest satisfaction.

This position demands technical proficiency in multiple disciplines, including HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and general carpentry, as well as solid communication skills and excellent time management abilities. Candidates should have at least two years of hotel maintenance experience, complemented by some post-secondary education or trade school training in a relevant mechanical, electrical, or technical field. The job involves physical demands such as prolonged standing and walking, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and the ability to visually inspect machinery and equipment.

Job Duties

  • Oversees the property grounds, public areas and hotel guest rooms
  • conducts preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns in hotel accommodations
  • paints, replaces electrical accessories, maintains HVAC
  • check fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation
  • maintain an adequate supply of spare parts and light bulbs
  • responds to maintenance orders in a timely manner
  • fulfills work orders in a timely manner
  • completed daily rounds, identifying and reporting problems
  • perform various other duties as assigned
