The role of Shuttle Driver/Bell-person at the Omaha Marriott Downtown is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and eager to contribute to the high standards of service that define the hotel. This position involves warmly welcoming guests, assisting with their luggage, escorting them to and from accommodations, and ensuring they are fully informed about room features in a courteous and friendly manner. Employees in this position are entrusted with operating the company van to transport guests to approved destinations, managing luggage transportation using bell carts, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards. The role also requires effective communication skills to respond accurately and promptly to guest inquiries. Candidates must maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times, contributing positively to the hotel's prestigious reputation.

This full-time role offers a competitive salary starting at $15.00 per hour plus tips, alongside a comprehensive benefits package. Job Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Ability to understand and follow written and or verbal instructions
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally in English
  • Ability to read English language sufficiently to ascertain information from luggage tags and claim checks to write numbers and names on claim checks and rooming lists
  • Ability to grasp, lift, and or carry or otherwise move packages and boxes and luggage up to 45lbs continuously throughout shift
  • Ability to stand, walk, and or sit and continuously perform essential job functions
  • Sufficient manual dexterity in one hand to be able to load and unload luggage
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances on property

Job Duties

  • Greet guests with friendly and sincere welcome
  • Retrieve guest items from cars, busses, vans, and carts
  • Grasp, lift, carry and/or load luggage and packages onto a bell cart to transport items throughout hotel to designated room
  • Navigate bell cart through public areas, guest room corridors and to elevators
  • Drive guests to approved destinations in company van and perform other driving errands as assigned
  • Listen and respond to guest inquiries
  • Answer questions and offer assistance giving accurate information
  • Always maintain a professional image while at work
  • Monitor company van maintenance requirements and communicate needs to management
  • Maintain all cleanliness and sanitation along with personal hygiene
  • Other duties as assigned
