Job Description
The hiring establishment is a dynamic organization operating within the hospitality industry, likely a hotel or resort, that prides itself on delivering exceptional guest experiences and comprehensive event management services. Known for its commitment to excellence and quality service, the company is positioned as a leader in its market segment, emphasizing a customer-centric approach that fosters long-term relationships and repeat business. The environment is fast-paced and entrepreneurial, where innovation and proactive sales strategies are highly valued. As part of its continuing growth and commitment to superior customer service, the company is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Sales Manager to join the team on a full-time basis. This role offers a competitive salary package reflective of experience and qualifications, providing both financial incentive and career advancement opportunities within the sales and marketing department.
In this pivotal role, the Sales Manager will be responsible for leading a successful, aggressive solicitation process that incorporates a blend of outside sales calls, inside appointments, telephone calls, direct mail, and individual letter campaigns. The position requires a proactive sales approach, with 80 percent of the manager's time dedicated to active sales solicitation, ensuring a continuous pipeline of prospects and converting leads into definite bookings. The Sales Manager will work closely with the Director of Sales in formulating the annual marketing plan, crafting targeted action plans tailored to specific market segments to maximize outreach and profitability. Further responsibilities include preparing and sending proposals for leads that match the property's profile while maintaining diligent follow-up protocols to secure confirmed bookings.
Beyond sales solicitation, the Sales Manager will play a crucial role in the operational side of group reservations by obtaining, documenting, and routing necessary information on confirmed groups. This includes billing information, credit applications, rooming lists, and VIP arrangements, ensuring seamless communication and coordination with catering and other departments for meeting logistics, menu planning, audio-visual requirements, and other event details. This comprehensive involvement ensures a smooth customer journey from sales to event execution, reinforcing the company’s reputation for outstanding service delivery. This role demands excellent business communication and presentation skills, a client-focused attitude, and a collaborative approach within a team dedicated to delivering great guest experiences. Adaptability to varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is essential to meet the demands of the hospitality industry and client expectations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a team-centric environment, demonstrating professionalism, courtesy, and a passion for sales and customer engagement.
