Job Description
Kinseth Hotel Corporation (KHC) is a reputable hospitality company known for its commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences through its hotels and restaurants. With a focus on providing high-quality accommodations and superior service, KHC operates several properties that cater to both leisure and business travelers. The company prides itself on fostering a positive work environment and offering ample opportunities for professional growth to its employees. KHC's dedication to excellence and customer satisfaction has established it as a distinguished name in the hospitality industry.
This role is for a Sales Professional within the Kinseth Hotel Corporation, a critical position focused on promoting and selling the hotel, banquet, and restaurant services. The primary objective of this position is to increase guest room sales, especially targeting the low and shoulder seasons when business is typically slower. The role involves a combination of sales outreach, customer service, and coordination with various hotel departments to ensure seamless execution of events and bookings. The salesperson will be proactive in making solicitation calls, attending industry functions, and participating in the development of marketing and promotional plans to build occupancy and revenue.
The position requires a strong emphasis on outside sales activities, with over 50% of the workweek dedicated to direct solicitation calls and visits to potential and existing clients. This includes preparing proposals, conducting property tours for prospective customers, and maintaining the customer database for future sales opportunities. The successful candidate must also be adept at using the company’s accounts tracing system and follow all company policies related to booking procedures, credit/deposit policies, and customer follow-ups.
In addition to sales responsibilities, the position involves collaboration with the banquet and catering teams to ensure proper planning and execution of events. The salesperson is expected to monitor guest satisfaction through follow-ups and thank-you communications. The role also includes participating in sales department meetings, sales blitzes, and after-hours networking events such as chamber outings, which are essential for building business relationships and exploring new sales opportunities.
This role carries supervisory responsibilities, including participation in the Manager on Duty program and directing banquet and catering staff as necessary. The salesperson may act as the acting manager over the sales staff in the absence of the Director of Sales, highlighting the need for leadership skills in managing both sales activities and staff.
Kinseth Hotel Corporation offers a competitive employment package including health, dental, vision, and other benefits available after 60 days of employment. Employees have access to DailyPay, a 401k retirement savings plan, paid training, paid time off (PTO), and a referral program. Discounts are available at all Kinseth Hotel Corporation hotels and restaurants, enhancing the employee experience. This comprehensive benefits package reflects the company’s commitment to the well-being and development of its team members.
To qualify for this position, candidates should have an associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid driver's license and proof of insurability are mandatory. Physical demands of the job require the ability to stand, walk, reach, lift, and perform other movements necessary to fulfill the role's responsibilities safely and effectively. The role demands a professional demeanor and adherence to KHC policies and standards, including dress code and performance expectations.
This job is ideal for individuals passionate about hospitality sales with strong interpersonal skills, sales acumen, and a customer-focused approach. It offers a dynamic work environment where building relationships, driving revenue, and contributing to the overall success of a hospitality company are core elements of the role. The position promises opportunities for advancement within Kinseth Hotel Corporation and a chance to be part of a well-established brand dedicated to exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction.
