Currently, Shaner Hotels is offering an exciting opportunity at Hotel Celare, a Marriott Tribute Portfolio hotel located in the heart of Cincinnati's innovation corridor. Hotel Celare is situated in The District at Clifton Heights, overlooking the University of Cincinnati and just minutes from downtown. This vibrant new destination offers modern, thoughtfully designed spaces that embody a contemporary energetic vibe. From the dynamic lobby to sunlit event spaces opening onto a wraparound terrace, the hotel caters to a wide variety of occasions and events. The property features diverse culinary destinations such as The Vick Rooftop Bar and Iris Cafe, appealing both to guests and locals alike.

The Bar Back position is a key role within the Food and Beverage Department at Hotel Celare. Bar Backs assist bartenders by providing quality food and beverage service to guests efficiently and courteously. The role involves maintaining the cleanliness of the bar, service areas, and equipment while ensuring all supplies and ware are well stocked. Bar Backs support bartenders by running food from the kitchen to guests and maintaining compliance with food and beverage safety and quality standards based on hotel, Shaner, and franchise guidelines. They ensure all daily operational procedures are followed within the Food and Beverage Department and help maintain safe working conditions.

The position requires a highly flexible schedule to include weekends, holidays, and varied shifts to meet the dynamic nature of hospitality service. Communication between the Bar Back, General Manager, department managers, supervisors, and staff is essential to seamless operations. Job Requirements

  • Be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends holidays and varied shifts
  • Minimum one year of experience in the restaurant or food and beverage field preferred
  • Minimum state age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages
  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests management and co-workers
  • High school graduate or equivalent some college preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of experience in the restaurant or food and beverage field preferred
  • Minimum state age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages
  • Ability to communicate satisfactorily with guests management and co-workers
  • High school graduate or equivalent some college preferred
  • ServSafe and or food safety training a plus
  • Alcohol awareness training such as TIPS
  • Bilingual English Spanish a plus
  • Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for clientele

Job Duties

  • Be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends holidays and varied shifts
  • Ensure compliance with and completion of all daily operational procedures in the Food and Beverage Department
  • Maintain food and beverage safety and quality according to hotel Shaner and franchise standards
  • Maintain and abide by operational standards and safe working conditions in the department
  • Ensure effective communication with General Manager department Managers Supervisors and Staff
  • Assist bartenders by maintaining the cleanliness of the bar service areas and equipment
  • Stock wares and equipment needed for service and assist in running food from the kitchen to guests
  • Perform other duties as assigned
