Job Description

The Town Pump Hotel Group is a well-established and rapidly growing hospitality company renowned for its commitment to "Genuine Hospitality from genuine people committed to providing comfort and service." With a broad network of hotels located primarily in the northern and western United States, Town Pump provides travelers and guests with comfortable accommodations, quality service, and a warm, welcoming environment. Their brand reflects a dedication to maintaining high service standards and creating a positive experience for every guest that walks through their doors. As a thriving hospitality company, Town Pump offers numerous opportunities for career advancement, employee development, and personal growth within one of the fastest-growing sectors of the service industry.

Within this dynamic environment, the role of a Hotel Porter is a vital part of the guest experience and operational success. The Hotel Porter at Town Pump Hotel Group is a motivated and outgoing individual who embraces the company’s core mission by delivering exceptional hospitality and ensuring every guest's experience is seamless and enjoyable. This position is pivotal in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of both the interior and exterior of the hotel premises. The porter helps uphold the high standards of the hotel by efficiently managing various duties related to guest services and housekeeping support.

The Hotel Porter is expected to model professionalism and integrity by adhering to Town Pump’s grooming standards, wearing a uniform and nametag throughout their shift, and exhibiting a dedicated work ethic at all times. They play an essential role in ensuring that the hotel's exterior grounds are well-maintained and free from debris, snow, ice, and any hazards that could affect guest safety. By assisting housekeeping personnel, gathering linens, and supporting room attendants, porters contribute significantly to the overall cleanliness and comfort that guests come to expect. Town Pump also emphasizes safety and compliance, requiring porters to work under Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards including practices for handling bloodborne pathogens safely.

In addition to their main responsibilities, Hotel Porters at Town Pump may cross-train and perform tasks in other departments such as front desk operations and housekeeping, enhancing their skills and providing flexibility to meet the needs of the business. Confidentiality and discretion are paramount, as porters must handle sensitive guest and company information with the utmost care. The daily workflow is guided by a checklist that ensures all tasks—from common area cleanliness to equipment security—are completed efficiently and to brand standards.

Town Pump supports its employees' well-being and professional development through comprehensive benefits, including a 401(k) retirement plan, health, dental, and vision insurance, health savings and flexible spending accounts, paid time off, and education reimbursement programs.
