The company operates a variety of locations ranging from neighborhood pubs to historic hotels, emphasizing community, art, history, music, food, drink, and fun. Known for its welcoming and inclusive environment, McMenamins values Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, encouraging applicants from all backgrounds to join their team. Providing both seasonal and long-term career opportunities, McMenamins is dedicated to creating an engaging and supportive workplace for all employees.
The Housekeeper role at Hotel Oregon is vital to maintaining the high standards of guest accommodation and satisfaction that McMenamins is known for. The primary responsibility of the housekeeping staff is to clean and maintain the hotel rooms swiftly and efficiently to ensure a clean, pleasant, and welcoming environment for guests. This position involves various housekeeping duties such as daily preparation of rooms, changing linens on beds, maintaining linen closets, and the detailed cleaning of bathrooms including toilets, sinks, and showers. Housekeepers also clean floors and may assist the maintenance or janitorial staff when required. They provide essential guest services by supporting the front desk, assisting guests with their requests—including providing items such as ironing boards and cribs—and answering questions to enhance the guest experience.
This position is more than just keeping rooms clean; it plays a crucial role in delivering comfort and enjoyment for visitors during their stay. Housekeepers are accountable for the condition of finished rooms and must have a comprehensive understanding of company policies and housekeeping procedures. Alongside careful attention to cleanliness, the role requires excellent customer service skills, mental agility, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Successful housekeepers must be capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team to maintain a positive and efficient work atmosphere.
McMenamins offers a rich array of benefits designed to enhance employee wellbeing and job satisfaction. Employees gain access to perks like discounted hotel rooms, savings on wine bottles, concert access, happy hour beverage pricing, discounts on McMenamins apparel and spa services, and shift food credits. In addition, a comprehensive insurance package features vision, medical, dental, chiropractic, and alternative care options for eligible staff. The company supports financial security with a 401(k) plan that includes an employer contribution. Paid time off (PTO) is provided to promote a healthy work-life balance, reflecting McMenamins’ belief in balancing professional and personal life. Staff enjoy working in fun, positive teams and benefit from multiple career path opportunities, with examples of employees progressing from entry-level roles to management positions. The work environment at McMenamins fosters growth, teamwork, and community spirit, making it an excellent place for individuals who want to be part of something meaningful and exciting.
