Job Description
Derby City Gaming & Hotel is a premier entertainment destination located in Louisville, Kentucky, offering a vibrant combination of gaming, accommodation, dining, and live music experiences. With nearly 1,300 of the latest games, visitors can enjoy a top-tier casino environment alongside a Kentucky Derby-themed hotel that embodies the spirit and excitement of the iconic horse racing event. This newly expanded facility also features a grab-n-go restaurant for quick and convenient dining, as well as the elegant Oliver's Chophouse & Bourbon Bar, where guests can savor exceptional cuisine and fine spirits. This dynamic venue is recognized not only for its offerings but also as one of the "Best Places to Work in Greater Louisville," as voted by Louisville Business First, demonstrating its commitment to both customer experience and employee satisfaction.
The Front Desk Associate role at Derby City Gaming & Hotel is a vital position that ensures guests receive exceptional service from the moment they arrive. This full-time role involves accommodating hotel guests by registering them, assigning rooms, issuing room keys, and managing guest accounts with accuracy and professionalism. The position requires an individual who is friendly, detail-oriented, and capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include handling reservations, confirming bookings, processing payments through the Visual One Property Management System, and adeptly directing calls using the PBX system. Additionally, the associate will collect guest player club information, support marketing room reservations, and assist guests during both check-in and check-out processes.
An integral part of this role involves maintaining accurate records of room availability and guest accounts, ensuring operational efficiency and guest satisfaction. The associate also plays a critical role in communication, serving as the liaison between guests and housekeeping or maintenance teams to promptly address any reported issues or special requests. With a focus on customer service, the role demands the recording of guest comments or complaints and the escalation to supervisors when necessary. The physical aspects of the job require the associate to frequently sit, stand, walk, and use their hands for various tasks, all within an environment that ranges from moderate to loud noise levels. This position is designed to accommodate individuals with disabilities by offering reasonable adjustments to enable successful performance of essential duties.
By joining Derby City Gaming & Hotel, employees become part of a vibrant team dedicated to creating memorable experiences for guests within a lively and welcoming atmosphere. The Front Desk Associate position offers a unique opportunity to develop customer service skills while contributing to an award-winning establishment known for its high standards and expansive amenities. It is an ideal role for those who enjoy hospitality, enjoy working with people, and want to be part of the thriving Louisville entertainment scene.
