Job Description

The West Hollywood EDITION is a luxury hotel located at 9040 W Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, California. Part of the prestigious EDITION Hotels portfolio by Marriott International, this establishment is renowned for combining the visionary design of boutique hotelier Ian Schrager with the impeccable service of a world-class luxury hotel brand. EDITION Hotels cater to sophisticated and discerning guests who value originality, design, and service excellence, delivering an experience that balances polish with personality, comfort with charm, and perfectionism with individuality. The West Hollywood EDITION stands as a symbol of hospitality innovation, offering guests unique experiences wrapped in an atmosphere that challenges conventional luxury hotel standards.

This role is a full-time management position with a salary range of $155,000 to $212,100 annually, including bonus eligibility. The position offers relocation assistance, emphasizing the value Marriott places on attracting top talent. The General Manager oversees all property operations and acts as the strategic business leader of the hotel. This includes direct responsibility over critical departments such as Front Office, Retail/Gift Shops, Recreation/Fitness Center, Housekeeping, Security/Loss Prevention, Engineering/Maintenance, Food and Beverage/Culinary, and Event Management if applicable. As the General Manager, the successful candidate is expected to collaborate closely with Executive Committee members and department heads to develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the brand’s service standards and initiatives.

The role's primary objective is to ensure that operational activities meet or exceed the expectations of the brand’s target customers while fostering employee satisfaction and maximizing financial performance. The successful candidate will be part of the Executive Committee, contributing to the creation and execution of property-wide strategies designed to deliver exceptional products and services, ensuring a superior guest experience and favorable return on investment. This includes managing large budgets, analyzing financial reports, optimizing profit margins, and driving revenue growth without compromising the quality of guest or employee experiences.

Furthermore, the General Manager is tasked with leading and motivating a diverse team, establishing a clear vision for service delivery that aligns with the brand's luxury image. This includes coaching department heads, conducting performance appraisals, hiring talented operations staff, and maintaining an open door policy to address employee concerns. A significant part of the role involves monitoring daily property operations, conducting regular property tours, and ensuring the implementation of core service strategies to continuously improve service performance.

Working at The West Hollywood EDITION offers more than a job—it provides an opportunity to be part of a passionate team that thrives on creating magical experiences for guests. Marriott International fosters an environment of inclusivity, non-discrimination, and continuous personal and professional development. Joining the EDITION hotel is not only joining a luxury brand but also becoming part of a global family dedicated to exceptional service and innovation in hospitality. If you are an authentic, outgoing individual who desires a fulfilling leadership role that challenges you and allows you to grow, this is the perfect opportunity where you can do your best work, begin your purpose, belong to an amazing global team, and become the best version of yourself.
