Job Description

The hospitality industry constantly evolves with a commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences while efficiently managing hotel operations. Our hiring establishment is a distinguished full-service hotel brand recognized nationwide for its exceptional accommodations, top-tier amenities, and dedicated customer service excellence. Known for its strong reputation and loyal clientele, the hotel balances luxury and comfort with operational efficiency. As part of a global hotel company, our property maintains the highest standards consistent with brand expectations, ensuring guests enjoy memorable stays whether for business or leisure purposes. With a focus on growth and sustainability, our hotel thrives in a competitive market by fostering a collaborative work environment and embracing innovation in sales, marketing, and service operations.

The role of Hotel General Manager is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing the comprehensive daily operations of the hotel. This role is integral in meeting planned financial objectives, managing human resources, maintaining the physical condition of the property, and ensuring the owner’s assets are protected. The General Manager will directly oversee sales, marketing, and revenue management initiatives, aimed at achieving strategic financial goals such as targeted Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR) index, room revenue, and total revenue benchmarks. This includes directing booking pace, sales productivity, and adapting strategies dynamically in response to local market conditions. The role requires a keen understanding of the regional market landscape including key accounts and demand drivers.

Financial stewardship is critical in this position with responsibilities including managing costs to achieve Gross Operating Profit (GOP) targets, producing timely and accurate financial forecasts, and ensuring compliance with company accounting protocols and internal control policies. The General Manager is also tasked with annual business plan development encompassing operating budgets, sales and marketing plans, and capital expenditure objectives.

In addition to business operations, the General Manager oversees the Food & Beverage (F&B) segment, ensuring service excellence, brand compliance, and regulatory adherence across all F&B outlets. The successful candidate will maintain a hands-on leadership style by engaging regularly with guests and team members to drive satisfaction and engagement scores. Proactive management of preventive maintenance and in-depth property evaluations, including guest room inspections, are essential to uphold high standards of maintenance, cleanliness, and service.

As a leader, the General Manager will be responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising department managers, fostering a positive work environment, and developing departmental improvement plans. The role demands effective communication skills for conducting regular team meetings, managerial one-on-ones, and wider staff engagement activities. A thorough knowledge of front-of-house and F&B operations is essential alongside the capability to navigate the dynamic nature of extended shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Overall, the Hotel General Manager serves as the driving force behind operational success, guest satisfaction, team development, and financial performance, making this role ideal for seasoned hospitality leaders aiming to elevate a prestigious property within a competitive market.
