The company operates a diverse portfolio of 15 hotels and resorts across the United States, each known for its distinctive character and style. Marcus Hotels & Resorts prides itself on a culture of 'People Pleasing People,' a core value that drives the team to consistently create extraordinary experiences for both guests and associates. This longstanding tradition of commitment to quality and guest satisfaction has established Marcus Hotels & Resorts as a leader in the hospitality sector, continuously expanding its presence while maintaining its unique appeal and exceptional service standards.
The Marcus Leadership Development Program (MLDP) is a full-time, paid opportunity aimed at cultivating the next generation of leaders within the hotel industry. Participants in this program are carefully selected for their potential to thrive in diverse leadership roles across multiple hotel departments and specialties. The program provides a comprehensive platform where individuals can significantly advance their professional and personal growth by building upon their previous experience, formal education, training, and inherent talents. Successful candidates are immersed in a structured rotational assignment schedule that covers various departments, offering a holistic view of hotel operations and a deep understanding of the hospitality business.
During the program, participants gain invaluable insights through active involvement in management and staff meetings and through collaboration with colleagues across different disciplines. This exposure allows them to develop key leadership skills, enhance their business acumen, and better comprehend operational standards vital to effective hotel management. The program not only includes daily operational responsibilities but also provides opportunities to engage in project work and special task force assignments, further broadening experience and expertise.
Upon completion of the program, participants are placed at one of Marcus Hotels & Resorts' properties, such as the Grand Geneva, Hilton Milwaukee City Center, The Pfister Hotel, or the Saint Kate Arts Hotel. This placement ensures continued development and advancement within the organization, underpinning long-term career growth and leadership opportunities in the hospitality industry.
The MLDP offers a salary estimated between $53,000 and $55,000 annually and is designed for individuals who are ready to embrace a dynamic, fast-paced work environment that values teamwork, organization, detail orientation, and a passion for learning. Candidates must be willing to relocate as necessary for program placement and assignments after completion, highlighting the program's commitment to developing versatile hospitality leaders capable of excelling in various settings.
Furthermore, participants benefit from competitive offerings such as relocation assistance including temporary housing for up to 30 days, hotel and movie theatre discounts, as well as perks related to golfing, skiing, dining, and spa services. Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance are available after one month of employment, along with eligibility for 401K participation with company matching, paid time off accrual starting immediately, and flexible scheduling options.
This program is ideal for motivated individuals who possess strong interpersonal, verbal, analytical, and written communication skills and who are eager to contribute meaningfully in a collaborative environment. The Marcus Leadership Development Program epitomizes a comprehensive approach to professional development and aims to equip participants with the skills and experience necessary to emerge as future leaders in the evolving hospitality landscape. Marcus Hotels & Resorts maintains an Equal Opportunity Employer status, reinforcing a commitment to diversity and inclusion throughout the company.
