The role of Hotel Maintenance Technician - Western Region is a specialized position within American Cruise Lines’ Hotel Operations Team. This role is essential to maintaining the integrity, appearance, and functionality of the interior hotel spaces on board American Cruise Lines’ vessels. As a skilled craftsman, the Hotel Maintenance Technician works closely with the Fleet Hotel Maintenance Manager and Hotel Operations Managers to ensure all furniture, fixtures, and facilities meet the company’s high standards and guest expectations. Responsible for traveling aboard ships throughout the operating season, the Technician evaluates and repairs hotel spaces to keep them in pristine condition. Expertise in hanging wallpaper, installing carpet and tile, repairing and installing wood trim and moldings, and performing general carpentry tasks is expected.

During the off-season, the Technician undertakes extensive maintenance and repair projects to prepare the ships for return to service. This includes managing subcontractors, conducting quality inspections, and assisting in coordinating maintenance efforts to ensure the vessels are shipshape. The Technician operates with a high degree of independence, often completing tasks with limited supervision, while maintaining safety protocols and cleanliness at all times. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication with management and team members are key to success in this position.

This full-time role requires approximately 70% travel to the ships, highlighting the dynamic and mobile nature of the job. The Technician must be adaptable, reliable, and ready to respond to maintenance needs in various settings onboard the fleet.
