As a brand, Residence Inn focuses on providing long-stay guests with spacious suites equipped with full kitchens, combining the comforts of a modern home with high-quality service tailored to meet the unique needs of business and leisure travelers. Situated at 2300 Elm Hill Pike in Nashville, Tennessee, this hotel embodies Marriott's dedication to superior customer service and a supportive work environment where every associate can thrive. With a vibrant culture built on diversity, inclusivity, and teamwork, Residence Inn Nashville Airport offers employees the opportunity to grow professionally while contributing to an exceptional guest experience. Marriott International is committed to equal opportunity employment, valuing the diverse backgrounds and talents of all team members and fostering a workplace free from discrimination based on disability, veteran status, or any other protected classifications under applicable law.
The role available at Residence Inn by Marriott Nashville Airport is a full-time, non-management position within the Engineering and Facilities department. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the hotel's physical operations run smoothly by installing, maintaining, and performing preventative maintenance on various tools, appliances, and equipment. The candidate will be responsible for calibrating controls, gauges, and meters, managing inventory, and handling purchase orders to keep supplies stocked and readily available. Key responsibilities also include operating power lifts, conducting life safety checklists such as fire-pump and generator run tests, and inspecting fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems to uphold safety standards. This role requires an individual who can respond promptly to guest repair requests, maintaining the high standards of comfort and safety that Marriott guests expect.
Beyond technical duties, this role supports management functions including hiring, training, scheduling, and coaching team members to foster a productive and motivated workforce. Adherence to company safety and security policies is essential, as is the completion of all required safety training and certifications. The position also demands physical capability to perform activities such as lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds, bending, twisting, and standing for extended periods. Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills, professional appearance, and a commitment to confidentiality.
The ideal candidate will possess at least two years of related work experience, including supervisory responsibilities, and have completed technical, trade, or vocational school education. While no specific licenses or certifications are required, familiarity with maintenance operations in a hospitality setting is advantageous. Embracing the Residence Inn service culture, employees in this role will contribute to a positive work environment centered on teamwork, efficiency, quality, safety, and cost savings. This position offers the opportunity to build meaningful relationships within a supportive team and to grow within a renowned international brand committed to employee development and guest satisfaction.
