Job Description
The LINE is more than just a collection of hotels; it is a vibrant and creative community that blends culture, design, and hospitality into unique guest experiences. Located in some of the most dynamic and emerging neighborhoods such as Koreatown in Los Angeles, Adams Morgan in Washington DC, and downtown Austin, the LINE stands out through its commitment to architectural interest, local culture, and culinary innovation. Each property is carefully selected not only for its location but also for the ability to inspire and reflect the rich character of its surroundings. The brand collaborates with the best talent in design, food and beverage, arts, and culture to create a hospitality experience that resonates with both visitors and local communities alike.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Engineering Manager to join the LINE team. This role is essential in maintaining and elevating the operational excellence and safety of our properties, ensuring that every guest enjoys a seamless and comfortable stay. The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for the hospitality industry paired with an entrepreneurial mindset and leadership skills that motivate a team and drive success.
In the Engineering Manager position, you will oversee daily operations of the engineering department, managing maintenance and repairs for the hotel’s buildings, systems, and equipment. Your responsibilities will include directing department staff, maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and quality, and ensuring that preventive maintenance programs are robust and effective. Communication with the Director of Engineering will be critical to keep leadership informed about operational challenges, risks, and business priorities.
Daily duties include conducting thorough walk-through inspections of the property, from guest rooms and public spaces to mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems, to proactively identify maintenance needs and safety concerns. Managing work orders efficiently to maximize operational uptime and reduce downtime will be a key focus area. Additionally, you will oversee the security and proper handling of all equipment and supplies, maintain accurate records, and establish inventory par levels for tools and parts.
Your leadership will extend beyond maintenance tasks, as you will provide training to other departments on equipment safety and energy efficiency, supervise contracted vendors to guarantee quality work, and participate in larger property projects such as renovations and capital improvements. The role requires thorough knowledge of building and safety codes and the ability to interface with local officials to ensure full compliance.
At the LINE, we foster a diverse and inclusive workplace culture. This position offers competitive wages and benefits that are designed to support the health and well-being of our team, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) and matching contributions, paid time off, employee discounts, wellness resources, and performance bonuses. We celebrate diversity and are committed to equal opportunity employment where all qualified candidates will receive consideration without regard to any protected characteristic under the law.
If you are a proactive, organized professional ready to contribute to a community-oriented hospitality brand while advancing your career, this Engineering Manager role at the LINE offers an exciting and fulfilling opportunity.
