This role is located at the Residence Inn West Des Moines, situated at 160 South Jordan Creek Parkway, West Des Moines, IA 50266. The position is hourly, focusing on facilities maintenance and repair within the hotel. As a valued member of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the hotel's equipment and guest facilities operate smoothly and are maintained to the highest standards. Responsibilities include the upkeep and repair of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems as well as general upkeep related to guest rooms and shared amenities. This role requires a proactive approach to preventative maintenance, addressing equipment issues before they impact guest satisfaction or hotel operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a hotel environment or a related field, with a strong preference for licensure in trades such as plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, or carpentry. Highgate seeks individuals who take pride in providing quality maintenance services that contribute to a welcoming, safe, and comfortable hotel experience. You will work closely with supervisors and hotel management to promptly attend to emergency repairs and follow-up on alarms or system warnings. Job Duties
- Assist with the operation maintenance and repair of equipment
- Change out light bulbs
- perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms to include vinyl repair touch up paint minor furniture repair tub caulking tile repairs etc
- Perform preventative maintenance for ice machines refrigerators kitchen equipment laundry equipment HVAC guestrooms meeting rooms the swimming pool and hot tub
- Perform plumbing repair laundry equipment repair preventative maintenance on all exhaust fans and supply
- monitor energy conservation
- repair vacuum cleaners and any other small equipment upon request
- Immediately follow up on any alarms to determine the exact location and cause - determine emergency status and report to the Front Desk with findings
- Perform other tasks jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager
