The Engineer position demands a highly versatile and knowledgeable individual capable of addressing guest repair needs and maintaining the physical infrastructure of the hotel. This role involves responding promptly to maintenance requests, performing preventive upkeep of equipment, and executing complex repairs across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The ideal candidate is proficient in troubleshooting and repairing a diverse array of equipment, including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing fixtures, electrical components, and general building systems, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations.

A key responsibility is maintaining communication with guests and colleagues to resolve issues efficiently and assure seamless operations across shifts. Candidates should demonstrate advanced skills in reading blueprints, electrical schematics, and engineering computer programs related to maintenance and energy management. The role includes inventory management for maintenance supplies and equipment, enforcing safety procedures such as Lockout/Tagout, and mentoring junior engineers.

The position also requires physical stamina to handle moving, lifting, and maneuvering equipment, as well as the ability to use standard tools safely and effectively. The successful applicant must adhere to all Marriott’s standards related to guest service, professionalism, confidentiality, and teamwork to support a positive and productive workplace environment.

This role is ideal for candidates with a technical and vocational background and considerable experience in general maintenance or hotel engineering, including electrical, refrigeration, and painting tasks. While supervisory experience is not required, the ability to take initiative and perform Engineer on Duty tasks is essential. Additionally, candidates must hold relevant certifications like Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification and a valid driver’s license, complying with state and federal licensing requirements.
