Job Description
This Sales Director position is with a leading hospitality company located in Omaha, Nebraska. The organization specializes in managing and promoting premier hotel properties, including branded hotels under renowned chains such as IHG. As a cornerstone in the hotel industry, the company prides itself on delivering exceptional guest experiences and superior service standards. It operates multiple properties and continues to expand its footprint while maintaining a sharp focus on market responsiveness and innovative sales strategies. The company fosters a collaborative work culture, encouraging professional development and leadership among its teams. This role is offered as a full-time employment opportunity located in Omaha, NE, featuring a competitive salary range of $50,000 to $62,000 annually and requiring 30 to 50 percent travel to support sales initiatives and attend industry events.
The Sales Director will lead the overall sales function for the hotel properties under management by developing and executing comprehensive sales strategies designed to increase revenue and maximize market share. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with the company’s branding standards and promoting a strong and consistent guest experience across properties. The Sales Director will provide guidance and leadership to on-property sales teams, including Directors of Sales, helping to mentor and develop these teams to meet and exceed their targets. Measuring sales performance through data analysis, market trend evaluation, and competitor insights will be key responsibilities to continuously identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
Additionally, the Sales Director will coordinate multi-segment sales efforts, including corporate transient, group, SMERF (social, military, education, religious, and fraternal groups), government, and extended-stay market segments. A critical component of the role involves overseeing key account management, supporting national and regional accounts, and spearheading the pursuit of new business opportunities. Collaboration with other departments, such as revenue management and marketing, is essential to optimize pricing strategies, promotional activities, and overall product positioning in the market.
This leadership role requires frequent visits to properties for on-site training, auditing, and support of local sales initiatives. Strong communication and team development skills are vital for success, as is the ability to manage complex sales strategies across multiple locations. Candidates with previous experience working with IHG branded hotels and familiarity with industry software such as Merlin, Delphi.fdc, SalesPro, and HotelKey will find themselves well-prepared for this challenging and rewarding position. The company offers an engaging and supportive environment where a driven sales professional can thrive and significantly contribute to the continued success and growth of the organization.
