We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Hotel Group Sales Manager who specializes in the SMERF (Social, Military, Educational, Religious, Fraternal) market segment. This role is essential to our team and is responsible for driving group sales within this specialized segment by identifying prospective clients, nurturing ongoing relationships, and meeting ambitious revenue targets. The role demands an individual with a proven track record of excellence in sales, exceptional negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of the unique requirements and processes characteristic of SMERF clientele.
The Hotel Group Sales Manager will play a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining strong relationships with SMERF clients by acting as their primary point of contact. This position involves developing and executing effective sales strategies and action plans that align with monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals. The successful candidate will conduct site tours and presentations that highlight our property’s amenities and services, ensuring prospects have a clear understanding of the benefits of partnering with us.
Collaboration is an essential aspect of this role, requiring regular interaction with both the events and operations teams to guarantee a seamless experience for clients from the inception of a booking through to the execution of their events or stays. In addition, the Hotel Group Sales Manager must stay abreast of market trends and competitor activities to effectively adjust sales strategies and maximize market share.
This position requires preparing and managing sales contracts, proposals, and related documentation with precision, as well as providing accurate revenue forecasts and pipeline reports to the Director of Sales. This analytical responsibility supports strategic decision-making and business planning at the higher management level.
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business, marketing, or a related field and possess between three to five years of sales experience within the hospitality industry, particularly with a focus on the SMERF segment. Proficiency in CRM software platforms like Ivvy or Delphi, alongside strong skills in the Microsoft Office Suite, is essential.
