Job Description
Fairfield Inn & Suites Tucson N/Oro Valley is a well-established hotel known for its commitment to guest satisfaction, quality service, and maintaining high brand standards. As a part of the Marriott family, the hotel offers a welcoming environment for travelers and a dynamic workplace for hospitality professionals. Located in the vibrant city of Tucson, this hotel serves both business and leisure guests, providing comfortable accommodations and excellent amenities. The hotel prides itself on fostering a team-oriented environment where employees are encouraged to grow and develop their skills while contributing to the overall success of the property.
The role of Supervisor, reporting to the Regional Director of Operations, is critical in ensuring the hotel's profitability and operational excellence. This full-time position focuses on driving revenue generation, maintaining cost controls, enhancing guest satisfaction, and supporting employee development. The Supervisor leads and manages all operational aspects of the hotel, including sales and marketing initiatives, community engagement, record keeping, staffing, training, and ensuring compliance with brand standards and legal requirements. The role requires a professional appearance and demeanor, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and under pressure.
Key responsibilities include creating a positive team-oriented environment that emphasizes outstanding customer service, handling guest complaints effectively, participating in business and community affairs, and ensuring the hotel meets budgeted revenue and expense goals. The Supervisor is also responsible for overseeing property maintenance and cleanliness, enforcing health and safety policies, and completing financial processes such as invoice payments and accounts receivable management. Candidates must possess knowledge of financial information including budgets, audits, and payroll procedures, and should be capable of multitasking, problem-solving, and delegating tasks to ensure smooth hotel operations.
Mandatory job requirements emphasize strong communication skills, the ability to work well under pressure, and proficiency in technology such as Microsoft Windows and Property Management Systems (PMS). Candidates should have a neat and professional appearance, knowledge of local events and the surrounding area, and the ability to learn safety and emergency protocols. A valid driver's license is required, and General Manager training within the brand must be completed within an acceptable timeframe.
The position also includes marginal duties such as assisting with cleaning, restocking supplies, laundry support, and minor maintenance tasks, reflecting a hands-on approach to maintaining a high-quality guest experience. Physical demands involve standing and walking for long periods, handling objects, and occasional lifting or crouching.
Fairfield Inn & Suites Tucson N/Oro Valley offers a supportive, inclusive work environment with opportunities for career growth within the hospitality industry. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with substantial hotel management experience seeking a challenging leadership role with a reputable hotel brand. The company is an equal employment opportunity employer, ensuring that all qualified applicants receive consideration without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
