We are currently offering an exciting career opportunity for a Hotel General Manager at our Canopy by Hilton Portland Pearl District, located in Portland, Oregon. This role is perfect for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and possess strong leadership capabilities. The General Manager will lead the hotel operations, ensuring the delivery of a consistent 5-star guest experience that reflects the brand’s commitment to quality and service excellence. The ideal candidate should have over five years of experience in hotel or hospitality management and demonstrate the ability to inspire and manage teams effectively while meeting financial and operational objectives.

As the General Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales and marketing efforts by crafting targeted promotional strategies that amplify the hotel’s unique services and amenities. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and upkeep across all guest rooms, public spaces, and the surrounding environment will be an ongoing priority, ensuring the property exemplifies luxury and comfort. Leading through vision and operational excellence, you will collaborate closely with the hotel’s department heads to set cohesive goals aligned with the overall business strategy. Budget planning and financial management will also be key components of your role to maximize profit margins while balancing costs with guest satisfaction.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED
  • minimum 5 years of hotel or hospitality management experience
  • proven leadership skills in fast-paced environments
  • strong customer service orientation
  • ability to collaborate with diverse teams
  • budget management experience
  • excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a hotel manager, assistant manager, or hotel department manager required
  • 5+ years of experience working in a hotel or the hospitality industry required
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent GED
  • we prefer a degree in hospitality or related field of study
  • Must have a strong focus on putting the guest first with exceptional customer service experience
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and problem-solving skills
  • Full service GM experience
  • Hilton experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Lead sales and marketing efforts by developing a targeted strategy for publicizing the hotel's services and amenities
  • Enhance the hotel's reputation for quality by inspecting the cleanliness and upkeep of the rooms, public areas, and surrounding grounds
  • Inspire your staff through leadership, vision, and operational strategies that drive financial success by providing exceptional guest service
  • Collaborate with hotel department leaders to define goals and objectives that are compatible with the overall hotel goals, as well as strategies for achieving them
  • Create a budget to maximize profit margins while keeping costs in balance with guest satisfaction and quality of services
