Job Description

WoodSpring Suites is a leading name in the extended-stay hotel industry known for providing comfortable, convenient, and affordable lodging solutions tailored to meet the needs of business travelers, relocating families, and anyone in need of temporary accommodations. As part of the Choice Hotels International family, WoodSpring Suites boasts a strong reputation for quality service and guest satisfaction, offering fully equipped rooms with kitchens and flexible stay options. This brand focuses on delivering an exceptional guest experience by combining hospitality with value, setting standards for cleanliness, safety, and customer care across its properties nationwide. WoodSpring Suites is dedicated to creating work environments that empower employees, promote career growth, and reward performance.

The General Manager position at WoodSpring Suites is a full-time role crucial to sustaining the profitability and high operational standards of the hotel. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all facets of hotel management including revenue generation, cost control, guest satisfaction, and employee development while upholding the company’s integrity and quality standards. With a salary range of $57,000 to $62,000 per year, this role offers a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) with matching, health and dental insurance, paid time off, employee discounts, and flexible scheduling to support work-life balance.

In this leadership role, the General Manager will direct hotel operations by collaborating closely with department heads, ensuring effective communication across all teams, and liaising with corporate office for alignment on business objectives. Essential functions involve managing daily hotel operations to maintain a clean, safe, and guest-ready environment; creating marketing plans and pricing strategies responsive to local market conditions; and participating actively in sales meetings and discussions to grow the business. The role requires a hands-on approach, engaging personally with guests and staff to foster a positive service culture and quickly address any issues or opportunities for improvement.

The General Manager must also be adept at financial management, including controlling expenses, overseeing accounts payable processes, managing monthly financial reports, and driving profitability in key revenue streams such as rooms and food and beverage. Human resources responsibilities are equally important, focusing on employee retention, regular staff meetings, motivation and development programs, and compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local employment laws and safety regulations. This position demands strong problem-solving skills, the ability to prioritize under pressure, and excellent communication abilities both in writing and orally. A minimum of one year of experience as a General Manager is required, with preferred experience in WoodSpring or other Choice-branded hotels.

Overall, this role suits a dynamic, results-driven hospitality professional eager to lead by example and ensure the highest standards of operational excellence within the extended-stay hotel sector.
