The role of Hotel General Manager at StudioRes by Marriott represents a pivotal leadership position within this upcoming property. This is a full-time role with a competitive salary ranging from $65,000 to $75,000 annually, complemented by bonus opportunities and flexible daily pay access to enhance financial flexibility. The successful candidate will be a dynamic, hands-on leader passionate about hospitality and equipped to drive the hotel's success from its pre-opening phase through ongoing operations.

As the Hotel General Manager, you will be responsible for recruiting, training, motivating, and leading a team of approximately 6-12 staff members. This role demands a proactive leader who can build a high-performing team to maintain the highest standards of guest services and operational performance. The manager will oversee all aspects of hotel operations including compliance with brand standards, budget management, labor control, occupancy maximization, and profit and loss oversight. The candidate will also engage actively with the local community and competitive market, leading sales and marketing initiatives to enhance occupancy and visibility of StudioRes in Wilmington’s hospitality sector.

In this leadership capacity, you will be expected to foster a team-oriented atmosphere, stepping in to assist with housekeeping and operational continuity when necessary, including shift coverage. Ensuring stringent emergency procedural compliance and property security also falls under this role's responsibilities. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience as a Hotel General Manager or in a similar hospitality leadership role
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50lbs

Job Duties

  • Recruit, train, and motivate a dedicated team of 6-12 staff members
  • Provide hands-on support and guidance to ensure the team achieves outstanding results
  • Ensure the hotel is always guest ready by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and swiftly addressing any guest concerns
  • Manage and address guest reviews to maintain review standards
  • Follow brand guidelines, meet operational deadlines, manage budgets, control labor, occupancy, and P&L’s
  • Network within the local community to promote the property and build strong relationships with competitive properties, local organizations, and key clients
  • Lead in-house guest sales and marketing initiatives to increase occupancy
  • Assist with housekeeping in rooms as needed and daily completion of laundry duties and public space needs
  • Flexible for covering employee shifts as needed to ensure operational continuity in the event of unexpected absences
  • Know and follow property emergency procedures and ensure the security needs of the property and guests are met
  • Perform other duties as assigned
