The Front Office Manager at Hyatt plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel's front desk and guest services. Reporting directly to the hotel's Director of Operations, this position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities from staff training, hiring, and scheduling to inter-department communication and oversight of daily front office operations. As the Front Office Manager, you will be entrusted with short and long-term planning and managing the front office operations within established budget and labor cost plans. You will take charge of maintaining accurate guest room inventory, ensuring all cash handling and operational procedures meet Hyatt's policies and standards. Additionally, this role involves close coordination with housekeeping and other departments to guarantee seamless service delivery. Coaching and counseling of employees to uphold Hyatt Service Standards and Procedures is a critical part of the role, alongside performing any necessary front office staff duties to ensure operational efficiency.

Job Requirements
- must be able to work a flexible schedule of any shift including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and overnights on any day including weekends and holidays
- must possess high energy and entrepreneurial spirit
- must have strong motivational leadership and effective communication skills
- must have at least 4 years of progressive hotel rooms management experience
- must have at least 2 years of leadership experience within the rooms division of a hotel
- must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills
- preferred to have experience with hotel property management computer systems such as Opera, HotSOS, Colleague Advantage, and Reserve
Job Qualifications
- demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
- 4 years or more of progressive hotel rooms management experience typically with Hyatt
- service oriented style with professional presentation skills
- at least 2 years of department head leadership experience within the rooms division of a hotel
- hotel/hospitality degree an asset
- high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator
- effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line
- clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English
- must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- preferred experience with hotel property management computer systems such as Opera, HotSOS, Colleague Advantage, and Reserve
- excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills
Job Duties
- responsible for short and long term planning and the management of the hotel’s front office operations
- develop and recommend the budget, labor cost plans and objectives and manage within those approved plans
- maintain guest room inventory
- coach and counsel employees to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures
- perform all tasks of a front office staff as needed to facilitate service
- ensure all operations and cash handling are done per policies and procedures
- maintain excellent communication with the housekeeping department
- maintain information on prices, rates, specials, packages, programs, etc., while ensuring all staff are trained in all areas
- analyze, investigate, and resolve guest complaints
- create expectations, lead people, manage processes, and hold people accountable for the agreed upon activities and time tables
- insure proper staffing levels for customer service goals
