The Front Desk Agent role at Northern Quest Resort and Casino is essential to the guest experience, serving as the primary point of contact for guests checking in and out of the hotel. This position involves managing guest reservations, ensuring accurate processing of billing and credit card transactions, and maintaining high-quality customer service standards. The Front Desk Agent must be adept at using hotel property software to manage reservations and guest profiles while anticipating and responding promptly to the needs and requests of guests. This role includes greeting guests warmly, assigning rooms, providing keys, and handling inquiries about the resort, casino, local area, and tribal businesses. The agent also collaborates closely with other departments such as Valet and Bell Staff to create a seamless, welcoming environment.
In this role, the agent ensures compliance with internal controls and company policies, maintains confidentiality, and upholds safety and loss control procedures. The position demands strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills along with the ability to handle cash transactions accurately and balance the bank at the end of each shift. Flexibility in work hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is required to meet operational needs. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Three to six months related experience and/or training
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Obtain and maintain required license or work permit
- Must be computer literate
- Ability to handle cash accurately
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to uphold guest confidentiality
- Knowledge of hotel emergency and safety procedures
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
- Maintain punctuality and regular attendance
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Three to six months related experience and/or training
- 1-2 years related college courses a plus
- Experience in a Four Diamond hotel preferred
- Computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft programs and hotel software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to write professional correspondence
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and short correspondence
- Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and interpreting ratios and percentages
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed instructions
- Ability to solve standardized problems involving concrete variables

Job Duties
- Ensures compliance with internal controls and company policies
- Maintains positive and attentive attitude to guest questions and needs
- Works with hotel property software to manage guest reservations
- Checks guests in and out using property software
- Records and verifies accuracy of guest billing and credit transactions
- Prevents duplicate guest profiles
- Processes guest credit card information and gift card purchases accurately
- Greets guests, assigns rooms, and provides room keys
- Creates and confirms reservations for hotel, RV, restaurant, transportation, entertainment, and tours
- Answers telephones promptly
- Provides information about resort, casino, tribal businesses, and local area
- Collaborates with Valet and Bell Staff for guest experience
- Upsells rooms, services, and amenities
- Posts charges for room, food, liquor, telephone, and ledger
- Maintains accurate cash handling and balances bank at shift end
- Knows Camas Club policies
- Anticipates guest needs and handles special requests
- Exhibits professional and friendly demeanor
- Provides exceptional service
- Works as a team to maintain service standards
