Job Requirements

  • Part-time availability two days a week
  • Availability for overnight night shift from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am
  • Availability on Friday and Saturday nights
  • Ability to work holidays
  • Minimum one year hotel experience
  • Minimum one year customer service experience
  • Proficient in English
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
  • Work location in person

Job Duties

  • Verify each front desk shift's transactions
  • Process credit card transactions
  • Post room and tax charges to all guest folios
  • Finalize transactions completed during the day
  • Create and/or print required reports
  • File or transmit reports as directed
  • Prepare folios for departing guests
  • Handle hotel phone system, transfer calls, and take messages for guests and hotel staff
  • Take, modify and cancel guest reservations, noting any special requests
  • Assist in the verification, balancing and revenue maximization of hotel’s room availability
  • Verify, balance and review guestroom availability
  • Check in/out guests
  • Verify departure dates and offer to make future reservations
  • Post phone charges, valet charges and other miscellaneous charges to guest accounts
  • Administer guest payment policies
  • Handle shift cash transactions
  • Maintain hotel key security system
  • Administer guest safe deposit boxes
  • Know hotel emergency procedures
  • Update guestroom status and inform Housekeeping of availability and dirty suites
  • Distribute mail and correspondence to guests and staff
  • Coordinate with other departments to fulfill guest special requests
  • Communicate property facilities and services to guests at check-in
  • Answer guest questions about local area facilities
  • Notify housekeeping and maintenance of problems with rooms or areas
  • Track status of guestrooms used for tours and maintenance
  • Perform other tasks as requested by Manager
