The Front Office Manager at the Nugget plays a pivotal role in the daily management of the front desk operations and acts as a crucial liaison between the hotel’s front office department and other divisions within the hotel. This leadership position requires overseeing the performance and development of front desk personnel, ensuring smooth and efficient operation of front office tasks, and maintaining excellent guest service standards. The role involves supervising assigned personnel, managing expenses and inventories, handling guest complaints, and supporting the hotel and reservations management teams with accounting research and billing inquiries.

This position reports directly to the Hotel Manager and requires a proactive individual with a strong background in front desk management. Key responsibilities include assisting in achieving operating budgets, resolving guest concerns promptly, managing special projects related to front office operations, and ensuring compliance with Nugget policies and regulatory requirements. The candidate must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be capable of coaching and training staff, and maintain a positive and professional image representing the Nugget at all times.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of front desk management experience, preferably in the hotel industry, along with strong analytical and hotel management skills. Effective spoken and written communication in English is necessary. The role demands an individual who can work safely in environments with varying noise levels, lighting, and temperature conditions, as well as handle physical demands such as standing for long periods and lifting up to 40 pounds. A valid Nevada Driver’s license and Alcohol Awareness Certification are required. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary reflective of experience and qualifications. Job Requirements

  • Fine finger manipulation

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and ability to maintain a safe work environment

Job Duties

  • Assist the Hotel Manager in developing and achieving operating budgets
  • Receive, respond, and resolve guest complaints in a timely manner
  • Responsible for daily management of Front Office
  • Process incoming mail, refunds, and commissions and maintain related files
  • Stock supplies as needed
  • Assist Accounting and Sales with guest inquiries regarding hotel billings
  • Clear house accounts and city ledger accounts at the end of each month
  • Assist Hotel Manager and Reservations Manager with accounting research and related tasks
  • Manage Front Desk expenses, inventories, and operations
  • Supervise, train, and coach Front Desk staff to ensure effective performance
  • Approve and deliver annual performance reviews and recommend rate increases
  • Monitor overages and review accounts payable for prompt payment of group balances
  • Communicate effectively with all Nugget guests and employees
  • Provide management coverage for other managers as needed
  • Attend meetings and hotel or casino events as required
  • Ensure regular predictable attendance
  • Follow Nugget policies and local, state, and federal regulations
  • Maintain safe work environment for team members and guests
  • Report unsafe conditions and incidents immediately
  • Maintain a positive and professional image
  • Perform other duties as assigned
