The Assistant Front Office Manager plays a critical role in preparing the hotel for daily business activities while prioritizing guest and associate satisfaction. Job Requirements
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to frequently stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move about the facility
- Will be exposed to commercial cleaning chemicals
- Ability to carry, lift or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Frequently handling objects and equipment
- Required to obtain ServSafe certification
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in hotel administration, business administration or related field preferred
- Two years of previous supervisory experience preferred
- Previous background in extended stay industry preferred
- Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Mathematical skills including budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances
- Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities
- Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred
- Ability to travel including some overnight travel
Job Duties
- Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients
- Manage according to Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards and instill a passion for customer service in all associates
- Create processes and procedures to ensure the hotel is supplied with guest amenities and properly maintained
- Ensure all staff are trained and equipped to perform their job functions
- Manage front office and reservation functions ensuring security of monies and guest information
- Manage approvals, billing, and collections of hotel’s accounts receivable
- Prepare month-end reporting for hotel financials
- Manage housekeeping and laundry functions to meet quality and brand standards
- Implement procedures for routine inspection of guest rooms and public areas
- Oversee daily execution of breakfast, evening social, and food and beverage operations
- Manage inventory and order replenishments timely
- Control food and beverage costs and ensure proper storage and security
- Manage human resources and benefits programs for front desk, food and beverage, and housekeeping departments
- Manage use and maintenance of IT hardware and software
- Manage purchasing of supplies and analyze spending for efficiencies
- Implement service recovery guidelines and respond to guest complaints
- Promote teamwork and quality service through communication
- Attend events to represent management and prospect sales leads
- Enforce hotel standards, policies, and procedures
- Act as manager on duty as required
- Sell hotel rooms through direct client contact
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and alcohol service laws
- Perform other duties as assigned
