This job opening is for the position of Front Desk Representative at the Nugget, a pivotal role within the hotel’s guest services department. The Front Desk Representative is responsible for providing attentive, courteous, and efficient service to guests during check-in, throughout their stay, and at checkout. This role demands a high level of professionalism and an ability to create a seamless and welcoming experience for all patrons. The representative will manage early and late arrivals, walk-ins, and departures while ensuring room revenue maximization and occupancy optimization. They will act as the first point of contact for guests, handling inquiries related to accommodations, amenities, local restaurants, transportation, and entertainment options.

The position requires collaboration with multiple departments, such as Housekeeping, to meet guest expectations, manage special requests, and facilitate smooth operations. The Front Desk Representative will also be responsible for processing payments, balancing cash and credit transactions, securing guest confidentiality, and maintaining overall property security. Proficiency in the front desk computer system is essential, along with knowledge of emergency procedures. Additionally, the representative must uphold the Nugget’s policies, local regulations, and safety protocols while fostering a positive and professional image of the establishment. Regular attendance and reliability are critical to success in this role. Job Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Effectively communicate with others both verbally and in written form using the English language
  • Minimum 1 year hotel front desk experience preferred
  • Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and move product up to 50 lbs
  • Fine finger manipulation
  • Work environment may include smoke and variable temperature, lighting, and noise levels
  • Work may be performed indoors and outdoors during special events

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year hotel front desk experience preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to operate front desk computer systems proficiently
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of cash handling and payment processing procedures
  • Familiarity with hotel policies, procedures, and safety protocols
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills

Job Duties

  • Deliver a seamless and professional experience managing early and late property arrivals/departures and walk-ins and all other tasks associated with guest room check-ins and check-outs
  • Partner with housekeeping and other related departments to meet guest expectations and special requests
  • Ensure correct charges and credits are posted, collect payments, handle cash and credit transactions, and demonstrate responsibility in balancing all cash and cash equivalent transactions using property cash handling procedures
  • Control and issue keys while promoting security, privacy, and confidentiality of all guests while providing a relaxing and hassle-free experience from start to finish
  • Answer inquiries from guests regarding restaurants, transportation, entertainment, etc.
  • Remain aware of all rates, packages, and special promotions
  • Stay familiar with all in-house groups
  • Be aware of closed out and restricted dates
  • Obtain all necessary information when taking room reservations and follow the rate-quoting scenario
  • Have knowledge of emergency procedures and assist as needed
  • Fully comprehend and be able to operate all relevant aspects of the front desk computer system
  • Balance and prepare individual paperwork for closing of shift according to hotel standards
  • Establish and maintain effective channels of communication with all levels of the Nugget team and guests
  • Using the Nugget’s system of recognition, recognize team members who are going "above and beyond" as appropriate
  • Knowledgeable of and consistently follow Nugget policies and procedures as well as appropriate local, state, and federal regulations
  • Perform work in a safe manner and always maintain a safe environment for fellow team members and guests alike
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions, team member or guest incidents to security, management, and the safety manager
  • Maintain a positive and professional image for the Nugget when performing duties or representing the Nugget and encourages others to do the same
  • Regular predictable attendance is required
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
