Job Description

Sonesta International Hotels stands as the 8th largest hotel company in the United States and is expanding rapidly. This well-established hospitality company features an impressive and diverse portfolio consisting of full-service and focused hotels located in major cities throughout the country. With over 1000 properties spanning eight countries, Sonesta has developed a strong presence, offering a wide variety of lodging and service options to cater to different traveler needs. The company prides itself on a philosophy that emphasizes the human side of hospitality, striving to deliver exceptional service infused with passion and loyalty, creating memorable experiences that genuinely connect with guests. Sonesta’s portfolio includes owned, managed, and franchised properties, making the brand ubiquitous and a preferred choice in the hotel industry. Their mission is centered around quality, value, and amazing guest experiences delivered consistently across every property, every stay.

The role of Guest Services Agent (GSA) at Sonesta International Hotels is a crucial position that directly impacts the guest experience and the operational success of the hotel. The GSA serves as the first point of contact for guests entering the hotel, representing the Sonesta brand and its commitment to top-tier hospitality. Working closely with the Operations Manager, the GSA is responsible for managing front desk functions and providing support in guest relations. The position demands proficiency with front desk technology systems and requires the agent to handle all guest interactions with professionalism and warmth, ensuring that each visitor feels welcomed and well-cared-for. Responsibilities include registering guests, issuing room keys, answering inquiries, managing cash and credit transactions securely, and promoting additional hotel services to maximize revenue. The GSA also plays a role in maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations and local laws, making the position vital to both guest satisfaction and operational integrity.

This role requires a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as hospitality is a 24/7 industry. The physical demands include standing for extended periods and occasionally lifting or moving items weighing up to 50 pounds. The GSA is expected to work enthusiastically within a team environment, ensuring smooth communication and coordination among shifts and hotel departments. The position also involves responsibility for guest safety through controlling safe-deposit boxes and promoting responsible alcohol service in areas such as the hotel’s shoppe and bar. A commitment to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. service standards reflects the brand’s dedication to delivering exceptional service at every guest touchpoint. Overall, the Guest Services Agent role is ideal for individuals passionate about hospitality, who thrive in dynamic environments and seek to contribute meaningfully to memorable guest experiences.
