Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated Full Time Second Shift Front Desk Agent to join our team, working from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., with a competitive starting wage of up to $16.50 per hour. The Front Desk Guest Service Representative (GSR) plays an essential role in maintaining positive guest interactions and delivering outstanding customer service. This pivotal position requires handling various guest needs, requests, and service transactions with courtesy and professionalism. In addition to guest service, the Front Desk Agent collaborates closely with other hotel team members to maintain room quality and ensure the safety and security of the hotel property.

Responsibilities of this role span greeting guests warmly, managing reservations, handling guest accounting including cash and PCI compliance, and maintaining accurate daily reports. The successful candidate will also be key in communicating with hotel management and other departments such as housekeeping and maintenance to ensure smooth operations, including monitoring room status and handling special requests. Cross-training across front desk shifts and other hotel departments is part of this role, as is training new hires to uphold company standards. Beyond service and operational duties, the agent is tasked with complying fully with all company and OSHA safety and security policies, maintaining professional appearance standards, and fostering positive guest relations consistently throughout the shift.

Job Requirements

  • HS diploma or equivalent work experience
  • 1-2 years of previous experience in customer service
  • must have basic office skills such as math, cash handling, computer skills
  • must be able to easily and frequently change from one task to another while operating a computer and/or switchboard and work
  • able to be self-started and work with minimal supervision
  • have basic communication skills such as reading, writing, comprehension
  • bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required
  • decision making and problem-solving skills
  • some administrative duties required such as timekeeping system, rooms' cleaned reports
  • may be required to work nights, weekends and/or holidays

Job Duties

  • Welcome guests with proper greeting and perform all guest related services
  • Handle reservation requests
  • check guests in/out
  • all guest accounting such as cash and PCI policies
  • Make, change, and monitor reservations
  • review and report rate availability
  • update and monitor room status
  • Inform hotel management of any possible sales leads or events in the area
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data
  • Perform daily cash count in drawer and safe
  • Complete all required reports on daily shift report
  • Communicate with hotel management and other GSRs as needed about issues, requests or concerns regarding guests or rooms
  • Work with housekeeping and maintenance to communicate room status, such as stayovers, checkouts, skips, clean/dirty rooms and out of order rooms
  • Cross train in all front desk shifts and other departments in the hotel
  • Train new hires in all front desk procedures and policies
  • Comply with all company and OSHA standards related to safety and security
  • Maintain professional and proper company dress code standards including a smile and friendly attitude towards guests and staff members
  • Smile and greet guests following the 24-7 rule, maintain positive guest relations and appropriately handle guest requests
  • Perform other duties as assigned
