Job Description

The Food and Beverage Manager position is a key role within the hospitality industry, typically found in hotels or similar establishments that offer dining services. This role demands a professional leader who can effectively motivate and supervise front of the house personnel, enforce human resources policies consistently, and play an active part in training new team members. As the Food and Beverage Manager, you will have the responsibility of interviewing potential staff candidates and assisting the General Manager in making hiring decisions, ensuring the team is staffed with qualified and motivated personnel. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years experience in food and beverage management or similar
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Knowledge of company HR policies and procedures
  • Ability to enforce safety and quality standards
  • Experience with inventory and ordering systems

Job Duties

  • Prepares daily production list and floor chart
  • Ensures that all staff complies with assigned shifts and attendance policies
  • Verifies that kitchen staff follows all recipes and portions servings correctly
  • Keeps bar, dining area, office and storage areas clean and organized
  • Ensures all product ordering is done timely and within standard
  • Receives food and alcohol orders using procedures as directed
  • Knowledge of all preparation methods, ingredients, portion size for all menu items offered
  • Sets excellent customer service by following guest service standards
  • Actively participates as a member of the management team
  • Manages and motivates all staffing levels throughout shift
  • Oversees overall labor and food cost to budgetary requirements
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested by the General Manager at any time
  • Consistently applies all alcohol serving procedures with regard to beverage service standards, awareness standards and ID policy
