This individual will perform preventive maintenance on various tools and equipment, conduct visual inspections, and maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies. The Maintenance Engineer will also manage emergency responses, utilize engineering computer programs, and perform complex repairs on HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Advanced expertise is required in multiple technical areas including air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical systems, general building management, and electronic controls. The engineer will handle sophisticated repair tasks with minimal supervision, perform safety inspections, and engage with vendor contracts. The position demands a thorough knowledge of safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout systems and the proper handling and storage of flammable materials. Furthermore, the engineer will take on supervisory responsibilities in the absence of management, train junior engineers, and uphold company standards regarding quality, uniform appearance, confidentiality, and guest interaction.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- valid driver’s license
- license or certification in refrigeration or electrical (earned or in progress)
- Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification
- at least 2 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience
- ability to move, lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- ability to climb stairs, ramps, and ladders
- knowledge of building systems including plumbing, HVAC, and electrical
- proficiency in Lockout/Tagout safety procedures
- strong troubleshooting and mechanical repair skills
- ability to work independently and with minimal supervision

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Respond and attend to guest repair requests
- communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues
- perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment including cleaning and lubrication
- visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
- maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies
- perform routine inspections of the entire property noting safety hazards and take corrective action
- diagnose and repair boilers, pumps and related mechanical components
- use Lockout/Tagout system before performing maintenance work
- display advanced troubleshooting of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems
- train and mentor other engineers
- perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities including readings and rounds
- follow all company safety and security policies
- ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
- welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards
- move, lift, carry, push, pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- perform other reasonable job duties as requested
