Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • vocational or technical background
  • 2 years experience in hotel engineering or maintenance
  • valid driver’s license
  • Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification
  • ability to lift 50 pounds
  • ability to use lockout/tagout system
  • communication skills
  • ability to work full time
  • ability to perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs
  • ability to follow safety protocols
  • ability to maintain professional appearance
  • ability to use computers
  • willingness to perform other job duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • vocational or technical background
  • extensive experience in general maintenance, electrical or refrigeration
  • knowledge of parts inventory and requisition
  • experience in exterior and interior surface preparation and painting
  • at least 2 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience
  • valid driver’s license
  • Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification
  • proficiency in reading blueprints and electrical schematics
  • strong mechanical skills
  • ability to use engineering computer programs
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to train and mentor others
  • knowledge of safety and security policies
  • physical ability to perform required duties

Job Duties

  • Respond to guest repair requests
  • communicate with guests and customers to resolve maintenance issues
  • perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment
  • visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
  • carry equipment such as tools and radios
  • identify and operate shut-off valves for equipment
  • maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies
  • communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts
  • read blueprints and electrical schematics related to plumbing and HVAC
  • perform complex repairs on physical property, electrical, plumbing, mechanical equipment, air conditioners, refrigeration, and pool heaters
  • troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, plumbing issues, electrical equipment, lamps, HVAC systems, vacuum cleaners, and internet devices
  • use Lockout/Tagout system for maintenance work
  • use engineering computer programs for preventative maintenance and energy management
  • perform advanced troubleshooting of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems
  • train and mentor other engineers
  • perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities
  • follow company safety and security policies
  • report maintenance problems and safety hazards
  • complete safety training and certifications
  • properly store flammable materials
  • maintain professional appearance
  • ensure confidentiality of proprietary information
  • welcome and assist guests and individuals with disabilities
  • adhere to quality standards
  • develop positive working relationships
  • speak professionally
  • lift and move objects
  • navigate stairs and service ramps
  • enter work-related information using computers
  • perform other reasonable duties as requested
