The Renaissance Charlotte SouthPark Hotel fosters a welcoming environment for both its guests and its employees, promoting a culture of respect, teamwork, and continuous improvement in the pursuit of hospitality excellence.

The role of a Maintenance Engineer at Renaissance Charlotte SouthPark Hotel is vital in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of the hotel's physical infrastructure. This full-time, non-management position requires an experienced professional dedicated to maintaining the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems that support the hotel’s operations. Offering competitive hourly pay ranging between $26.52 and $28.11, the position includes valuable benefits such as free parking and meals, enhancing the overall compensation package.

Maintenance Engineers are responsible for responding promptly and efficiently to guest repair requests, ensuring the satisfaction of guests by resolving maintenance issues with minimal supervision. This role requires hands-on technical expertise combined with excellent communication skills, as Engineers must interact with guests and staff to diagnose problems, explain repairs, and ensure effective solutions. The job involves performing preventive maintenance, regular inspections, equipment lubrication, inventory management, and requisition of necessary parts or supplies.

A key aspect of the role is the Engineer’s proficiency in reading blueprints, electrical schematics, and understanding complex mechanical and engineering systems related to plumbing and HVAC. The ideal candidate displays advanced skills in multiple technical domains including air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical repairs, plumbing, and electronic systems. This breadth of knowledge supports the ability to perform complex repairs independently while adhering to company safety standards and local codes.

The Maintenance Engineer also plays an important role in energy management and environmental compliance, using engineering computer programs to maintain efficient operation and sustainability of hotel facilities. Additional responsibilities include training and mentoring junior engineers, performing Engineer on Duty duties, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and security policies throughout the property.

Physical demands of the position include the ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds, navigate stairs and service ramps, and perform physical movements such as bending, twisting, and stooping. Professional appearance and a guest-focused demeanor are essential, as engineers regularly engage with hotel patrons, fostering a positive guest experience through prompt service and courteous interaction.

The Maintenance Engineer is expected to stay updated on certification and licensing requirements, with a valid driver's license and Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification being mandatory for this role. While supervisory duties are not a primary expectation, the candidate should demonstrate the capacity to support team goals and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
