Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina is a premier hotel located in the vibrant city of San Diego, California. Known for its stunning waterfront views, luxurious accommodations, and exceptional guest services, the hotel is a top destination for both business and leisure travelers. As part of the globally recognized Marriott International brand, the Marquis San Diego Marina upholds high standards of hospitality, comfort, and convenience. The property features an extensive range of amenities including spacious guestrooms, diverse dining options, meeting and event spaces, and recreational facilities. With a commitment to delivering memorable guest experiences, the hotel employs a skilled and dedicated team focused on maintaining excellence in all aspects of operation.
The Full-Time Engineer position at Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina plays a crucial role in ensuring the hotel’s physical infrastructure is operating at peak efficiency. This non-management role requires a versatile individual with expertise in multiple technical areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and general maintenance. The engineer will be responsible for responding promptly to guest repair requests, carrying out preventive maintenance on equipment, troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical systems, and complying with all safety and operational standards. The position demands a high level of technical skill, problem-solving ability, and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
This role offers a competitive hourly wage of $35.49, reflecting the importance of the responsibilities and the expertise required. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of engineering computer programs related to preventive maintenance and energy management, with the ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics accurately. The engineer will also be expected to handle tasks involving air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, carpentry, kitchen equipment maintenance, and general building management. Safety is paramount, and use of Lockout/Tagout procedures will be essential. Additionally, the engineer will act as a key resource in mentoring junior staff and potentially serve as Engineer on Duty for certain shifts.
An emphasis on excellent communication skills is important in this role, particularly when interacting with guests and team members. The engineer must be capable of anticipating and addressing guest service needs professionally while following all company policies and safety regulations. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds and perform various physical activities such as bending, twisting, and climbing ladders. Attention to detail, reliability, and a customer-focused attitude are critical attributes for success in this position. Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina offers not only a dynamic work environment but also the opportunity to grow professionally within a respected global hospitality brand.
