Job Requirements
- Part-time employment
- 2nd Class Air Conditioner and Boiler License from The City of New Orleans
- must meet applicable state and federal certification and/or licensing requirements
- valid driver's license
- Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification
- ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
- willingness to work on stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders
- must follow all safety and security policies and procedures
- ability to perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities
- commitment to maintaining professional appearance and confidentiality
- ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- vocational or technical background preferred
- extensive experience and training in general maintenance, electrical or refrigeration
- at least 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience
- valid driver's license
- Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification
- ability to read standard blueprints and electrical schematics
- proficiency in at least three maintenance categories such as air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building management
- knowledge of safety procedures and standards
Job Duties
- Respond and attend to guest repair requests
- communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues with little to no supervision
- perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication
- visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
- identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment
- maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed
- follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures
- complete safety training and certifications
- use Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work
- perform advanced troubleshooting of hotel mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- safely perform highly complex repairs of physical property, electrical, plumbing and mechanical equipment, air conditioners, refrigeration and pool heaters
- display ability to train and mentor other engineers as necessary
- perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including readings and rounds
- move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- adhere to quality expectations and standards
- develop and maintain positive working relationships with others
- speak with others using clear and professional language
- perform other reasonable job duties as requested
