Job Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Experience with preventive maintenance and repair tasks
- Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout safety procedures
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work overnight shifts
- Good communication skills
- Willingness to comply with company safety and security policies
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Vocational or technical background preferred
- Experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, and painting
- At least 2 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Universal Chlorofluorocarbon certification
- Proficiency with hand and power tools
- Ability to perform mid-level troubleshooting of MEP systems
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to train and mentor junior staff
Job Duties
- Respond and attend to guest repair requests
- Communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues with little to no supervision
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment including cleaning and lubrication
- Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
- Carry equipment such as tools and radio
- Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and buildings
- Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed
- Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved programs
- Display proficiency in air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and building management
- Repair or replace PVC copper pipe including soldering
- Troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, plumbing fixtures, electrical equipment, lamps, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, and internet devices
- Program TVs and perform housekeeping and engineering-related duties
- Assist with surface preparation, painting, drywall, wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement
- Use Lockout/Tagout system before maintenance
- Utilize engineering computer programs for preventative maintenance and energy management
- Perform mid-level troubleshooting of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems
- Train and mentor other engineers
- Perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities including readings and rounds
- Follow all safety and security policies and report hazards
- Ensure clean and professional personal appearance
- Maintain confidentiality and protect company assets
- Welcome and acknowledge guests and address service needs
- Support team goals and respond appropriately to employee concerns
- Physically move, lift, carry, push, pull objects up to 50 pounds
- Use stairs, ramps and ladders
- Perform other reasonable duties as requested
