Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • vocational or technical training
  • at least 2 years of experience in hotel engineering or maintenance
  • valid driver’s license
  • Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification
  • ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds
  • knowledge of safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout
  • ability to communicate professionally with guests and staff
  • compliance with state and federal licensing and certification requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • vocational or technical background
  • at least 2 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience
  • proficiency in electrical, plumbing, and mechanical maintenance
  • ability to troubleshoot and repair various equipment
  • valid driver’s license
  • Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification
  • knowledge of preventive maintenance programs
  • ability to mentor or train junior staff
  • good communication skills
  • adherence to safety standards
  • basic carpentry and painting skills

Job Duties

  • Respond and attend to guest repair requests
  • communicate with guests and customers to resolve maintenance issues with little to no supervision
  • perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment including cleaning and lubrication
  • visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
  • identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and buildings
  • maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed
  • perform mid-level troubleshooting of hotel mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • display proficiency in air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, and general building management
  • use Lockout/Tagout system before maintenance work
  • assist with surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair
  • perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities
  • follow all company safety and security policies and procedures
  • welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards
  • develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members
  • perform other reasonable job duties as requested
