Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Vocational or technical training
- Minimum 2 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Availability for part-time hours
- Ability to work on stairs, ramps, and ladders
- Good communication skills
- Compliance with company safety policies
- Basic computer skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Vocational or technical background
- At least 2 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience
- Experience in general maintenance including exterior and interior surface preparation and painting
- Proficiency with HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and building systems
- Ability to train and mentor others
- Valid driver’s license
- Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification
- Working knowledge of safety and lockout/tagout procedures
- Familiarity with engineering computer programs for preventative maintenance and energy management
Job Duties
- Respond to guest repair requests
- Communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment
- Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines
- Identify and operate equipment and building shut-off valves
- Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts
- Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts
- Display proficiency in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and building management
- Use hand and power tools safely
- Repair or replace pipes and perform basic plumbing repairs
- Troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, plumbing fixtures, electrical devices, and guestroom items
- Program televisions
- Conduct general engineering housekeeping
- Perform surface preparation, painting, drywall and wood trim repair
- Use Lockout/Tagout system
- Utilize engineering software for maintenance and energy management
- Perform mid-level MEP system troubleshooting
- Mentor junior engineers
- Perform Engineer on Duty tasks
- Follow company safety and security policies
- Report maintenance problems and safety hazards
- Complete safety training and certifications
- Store flammable materials properly
- Maintain professional appearance
- Protect company assets
- Acknowledge and assist guests
- Adhere to quality standards
- Develop positive working relationships
- Lift and move objects up to 50 pounds
- Use computers for work-related information
- Perform other job duties as needed
