This position is for an Engineer II, a part-time role based at the Seattle Marriott Bellevue. The pay rate is $29.61 per hour, reflecting the specialized skills and responsibilities required for this role. The Engineer II is entrusted with a wide range of tasks central to maintaining the hotel's physical infrastructure and guest satisfaction. This role involves responding promptly and efficiently to guest repair requests, communicating effectively with guests to resolve maintenance issues independently, and performing preventive maintenance on various tools and equipment to ensure longevity and reliability.

The position demands a proactive, skilled individual capable of visually inspecting tools, equipment, and machines, as well as identifying and operating shut-off valves for equipment and buildings. The Engineer II maintains inventory, requisitions supplies, and communicates daily activities and challenges to ensure smooth shift transitions. The ideal candidate will display proficiency in multiple engineering disciplines, including air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical and mechanical systems, plumbing, pneumatic and electronic controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment maintenance, vehicle care, energy conservation, and general building management.

Candidates must demonstrate competence in the safe use of hand and power tools, basic pipe repair including soldering, troubleshooting and repairing diverse equipment such as pumps, motors, plumbing fixtures, electrical devices, and guestroom amenities. Additional responsibilities include programming televisions, conducting general housekeeping related to engineering tasks, performing surface preparation, painting, drywall and wood trim repair, and adhering to safety protocols such as Lockout/Tagout procedures.

Furthermore, this role requires familiarity with engineering software for preventative maintenance, energy management, and system monitoring. The Engineer II is also expected to mentor junior engineers, perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities, and uphold all company safety, security policies, and standards. Physical capabilities such as lifting up to 50 pounds, working on stairs and ladders, and the ability to use computers for logging and retrieving work-related information are essential.

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Respond to guest repair requests
